Hi,

I've recently purchased a 1-month sub via Steam @ €9.95, yet the 1-month sub here, is listed as €7.95.

Is the 'why pay' link out-of-date re sub costs or am I having to pay more as I use Steam?

The Steam subscriptions are slightly more expensive than the cheapest payment option directly via Ryzom. Also the cost per month depends on your subscription period, you get a discount for buying a longer period than just a month.

A direct subscription via Ryzom also have two sets of prizes (to make it even more complicated, sorry). The cheapest option is using WorldPay and a credit card and gives you an automatic recurring subscription. PayPal is slightly more expensive and also requires a manual renewal.

The reason for the differences is that PayPal and Steam charges you extra for performing the payment services.

Would it be possible to maintain my Steam client, but separate my Steam account from my Ryzom account, so I can pay directly instead?

I think I'd like to save those €2.

If you unlink your account from Steam, you would be able to purchase a subscription outside of Steam. In order to do so, just send a ticket via ingame system or an email to support@ryzom.com. Your account will link to Steam again as soon as you log in to Ryzom via Steam.
