Mutual GNU / Linux

Hi there,

I recently came back from a 3 months long trip and one of the first things I did was to update my Fedora installation. Everything went fine and I'm now on Fedora 24 x86_64. The problem is that now, when I try to launch Ryzom, I get the following error:
[kraul@localhost ryzom]$ uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 4.6.6-300.fc24.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 10 21:07:35 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[kraul@localhost ryzom]$ ./ryzom_client
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

FYI, I had simply downloaded the official 32 bit client from ryzom.com a long time ago and it was working fine. I suspect the upgrade to Fedora 24 botched something.

So how can I join Atys again? Also and of course, I'm available to do my best to help the devs fix this issue so that other users of my distribution can play Ryzom too.

I do not understand: if you have a x86_64 GNU/Linux, why do not try :
http://ryzom.kervala.net/clients/ryzom_client_static_linux64_3.0. 0.7776.7z (17.630228 MB - 2016-06-14 21:30:44)

Thanks for the link Zo'ro Argh. At first I didn't know what to do with the archive, hope it contained at least a README. I tried to launch ryzom_client from the terminal, it complained about a missing ttf font file. Then I launched ryzom_client_patcher and after a couple of errors and relaunches, it seemed to work fine (had to chmod +x that file to be able to execute it again, that was weird).

Now I'm able to play again, but nevertheless offering an archive that's not working on the web site seems kinda sorta problematic to me. If an admin or a dev stumbles upon this post, please offer a native 64bit version of the game on the web site for the newcomers.

Kervala's clients are offered by default through Steam, I think. Not sure if the clients on Sourceforge were updated yet, though.
