How do I pay for a subscription on Steam? - English

When I log into my Ryzom billing page I get this message:

"Your Ryzom account is linked to Steam. Please use the Steam Store to pay for one or more months of subscription to the game."

However, I can't seem to find an option anywhere in Steam to pay for a subscription. I've looked in every menu and button that seemed relevant, but all I can see is that it is "free to play", and a "play" button.

Any ideas?

Also, a separate question - is it still the case that if I sub, I can't ever revert back to a F2P account?

If you want to unlink your account from Steam, send an email to support@ryzom.com. I haven't used Steam so not sure exactly how the Steam payment system works.

Currently once you subscribe an account you cannot go back to a free account. The Ryzom team is investigating changing that to allow the account to be usable when unsubbed, but with limitations.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, however that is exactly what I was doing in the first place and lead to the problem I'm describing. Here is a screenshot:

As you can see, there is no option to pay with Steam, only an instruction to use the Steam Store - which also offers no option to pay.

I would prefer to pay this way rather than have to change my account. Also, on a more serious level, this must be causing the game to lose out on a lot of revenue as it is not obvious how to pay in this scenario.

Hello!

If you look closely at your screenshot, there are a circle in front of every Steam subscription option. Click in the circle for the length of time you want to subscribe and see if you can advance with the subscription. Please let us know how it goes.

Hi,

Thanks, that worked.

From a UI perspective they might want to take a look at that. "Please use the Steam Store" to me reads that I should go to the Steam Store to pay, and those circles are almost invisible!
