The said command (/version) already exists, only in late clients, though.

Not for or against it, just curios: What would you need that feature for? Also: isn't the current client version displayed while loading the game?

In my mind it is a necessity, because hot-liners to understant some cases would ask you "what is you version?". Indeed, not everybody is on steam and well updated, and we have different kind of client (Windows, Mac, linuxes...) .

it s just somthing that i think should be in the game because when i was assking a gm something the sked what version im in and i had to relog to see it

Once the installer is finished, all people will/should update to the new client and will have the /version command available.
