#1 [en]

I did a reinstall of Debian two days ago. I can no longer run Ryzom due to sound issues. I figured this out in the past, my stroke-riddled brain is somewhat damaged.

I have installed pulseaudio and alsa.

Does anyone have a suggestion for me?

How about oss, could that solve my problem???

I really don't want to install a bunch of things I don't need AGAIN.

HELP!!!

Did you try to use static client ? Kervala compil it here : http://ryzom.kervala.net/clients/. Use the latest and if you found a bug, say it :)

Have you a good driver graphic ? Sometimes problem are drivers...

Plus d'histoires ici.

First, I cannot remember, BUT I restored it ryzom from my backups, and it was running previous to my reinstall, so it is something in my OS (Debian) that I didn't include, thus it is a package that was there before my backup.

Also, the error from my "crashing" is as follows:

You must start the client from the directory where your ryzom installation is :

cd /opt/ryzom/
./ryzom_client

Not where ryzom installation is, but where client.cfg is
cd $HOME/.ryzom

CRAP CRAP CRAP,
Would someone kick me in the butt, please?

I did an "ls -l " and I noticed that the username was "not me".

I did a "sudo chown -R {my username}:{my username} /opt"

And BAM.. it works.....

Kick me in the butt!!!!!

In other words, I fixed it!
