Win 64 Build 3.0.0.7538 - Technical Support

1. Since the 7358 patch, none of the IG apps work .... left side of app bar works fine; right side (user created apps) do not,

2. The only remaining bug from previous versions that I have noticed so far is the game still crashes every now and then when I port into Pyr / Zora.... but much less frequently.

**EDIT:**

Quiting to the Character Screen and then selecting alt, frequently causes crash.

Just loaded Ryzom from lappie (Build 7090) all IG apps work from there. Luckily 7090 doesn't autoupdate

try with clean client.cfg

Thx for the effort karu but here's the deal. Ryzom is installed on D:\ a 256 GB SSD

-Ryzom 7090 is installed at D:\Games\Ryzom-7090
Ryzom IG apps work fine / user IG apps work fine/

-Ryzom 7358 is installed at D:\Games\Ryzom-7358
Ryzom IG apps work fine / user IG apps don't work

Deleted all user IG apps
Logged Out
Renamed client.cfg to client.old
Open ryzom_configuration_qt_r.exe and set correct screen settings; launched Ryzom

Added BM app ... no go
Added World Clock ... no go
Added XP calc ... no go
Added Molly Apps ... no go

EDIT: Tried taking client.cfg from 7090 and pasting in 7358 .... User created IG appas no workie

EDIT: Since I got to 7358 thru the patch system, tried downloading the zip files, expanded and copy / pasted the files (client + data) in. No change, all user created apps no work.

Same as first post ....

With 7358 ...

Click on app bar for built-in ryzom app (i,e "Occupations" or "Recipe Book"), works fine = loads, can view, can use.... works as intended.

Click on app bar for user created app (I.e. "BM Site" or "World Clock" , no workie = doesn't load, can't view, can't use ... does not work as intended ... like clicking on air, nothing happens.

With 7090 ...

Everything loads, everything views, everything works as intended

Both 7090 and 7358 on same box, same drive, same files other than the ones in the downloads. One day it worked fine ... after mandatory patch it didn't. Given the preceding, I don't see how it could be anything else but some glitch in newer versions. If memory serves, first saw it in 7533 ... figured the server might be down or something, but after 7538, figured worth pursuing.

Many more of those from 62 to 73 AL.zone and / or AM, AO, AS, AT etc

But this is the one I think is the culprit

And yes, I have deleted all the apps, logged out / in and reloaded.

I should also mention that when Mirakel was doing the Bunny Tools, I received an e-mail from him saying that he "updated the tools so that they would work with new 64 bit version". Unfortunately, I can't reach him to ask what he meant, but this was about a month ago.

This is the reason why it does not work.

Do you have widgets.xml somewhere in ryzom search path like 'user' or 'data' directories? There is client.log file entry about that file too if client is using modified version.

The AppZone appbar was moved from webig 'app' into client files and it does not find web browser window template which is defined in widgets.xml

Thanks for confirming the entry I identified as suspect.

In 7090, widgets.xml is in D:\Games\Ryzom 7090\User and it works fine

As above, tried copying client.cfg file from 7090 to 7358 as troubleshooting measure, no change. There is no reference to widgets in either client.cfg file.

So why is one working and one not ?

So why is one working and one not ?

widgets.xml in both user directories is for version 7090. You need to remove or update it.

Untested, but you could create empty webbrowser.lua file there which should pull missing code over webig as in 7090. Just make sure to remove it later when widgets.xml is updated.

Does patchlet downloads it for you or is that your own local version?

1. Shortly after 7090, there is no more downloading copy / pasting client and data files. You log in, it says you have a patch and you either patch or don't play. Been 12 patches in last month

2. So for whatever reason the patch and the downloaded versions do not have this updated widgets.xml file ... isn't that "the problem" ?

3. If it's not in the patch or the kervala downbloads, how does one get an updated widgets.xml ... and doesn't the Ryzom Apps (i,e, occupations / recipes) use the same mechanism ? If neither patch or downloads are updating this file, is that not something that needs to be fixed ?

4. How does one get an updated widgets file and where does one put it ?

5. Both files are dated 07/06/2012 (224,880)

problem is that for some reason you have widgets.xml in user directory. get rid of it.

infact you can get rid of the 'user' directory altogether. if something important is in there, patchlet will redownload it (char selection screen patch)

Well I didin't put in there :)

At some point the game put it there. If its a problem for a new version being where it was put by th egame at some point, shouldn't the patch system be taking it out ? But your solution worked. Just think manually deleteing files will be a bit much for many users.

7090 works w/ it there ... 7358 does not.

My Ryzom Folder was created January 2004 and been updated all along.

BTW, I think we talking about two different things. When i say patch, I am saying that 12 times in the past month, I logged into a screen message that said I needed to d/l XX MB of files. Then I click patch, ryzom restarts and I have to say Ok to the EULA again .... BTW, is this really necessary every other day almost ? :) ... and then i get in game.

Now the in game aps are working and I have no widgets file
