chapter 27 (those against the scrolls)(final chapter of this story)

what a wild and unsound story this group has seamed to come up with. finding the order so suddenly by mear chance at the very end only after all the fragments were decoded. pouring out the final order of the scrolls in three days time after that magical discovery of those final three scrolls secrets. taking another day to, in their words, play with the order of the three blocks of text. then they offer us the "most logical order" further making wild claims that it would be a sort of secret history. then they would go on to claim that we know more then these scrolls tell; that there might be more scrolls that we are keeping from the homins of atys. they give a list of questions as though they truely knew more then they claim to know now. even going so far as to claim that there might be more truth out there, some of that perhaps found in old folk stories some people might know of. they call to the homins of atys to continue to search for anything that might support or go along with this wild story they have made.
we now call to the homins of atys to stop wasting time with this foolish group, and to put no faith into the crazy story they've come up with and called a history. there's no proof in anything they have done beyond the scrolls alone and those have long been considered worthless.
these homins in this group and all those that support them are simply wasting time and effort on something that does not deserve the attention and effort it's getting. everyone that is involved with this has wasted so much for what in the end proves nothing and provides nothing.
this is our call to everyone to move on from this foolishness and return their efforts to more productive endeavors.

chapter 28 (the upper branches - "interlude one" story)

much time has passed since the completed works of the group were shared with the rest of atys. the response of the government powers and so called wisemen that followed the groups final posting of information did not work as they has intended. there were still many homins not directly involved with the group that decoded the scrolls that offered support to their efforts and they also still are seeking more truth.
as time had went on some homins did indeed move on to other things and loose intrest in the message the scrolls shared. there were however even more that learned of them took intrest in the message. this was something that the powers that be did not find good at all, it was their hope that with time it would be forgotten by the common homin. this continued support and search for answers was exactly what the powers that be had feared. many homins have wondered what the powers that be had to fear of the scrolls.
what the common homins didn't know is that for the powers that be the scrolls were not as they had claimed them to be, worthless. unknown to all but the fewest homins in power or places of high respect and knowladge the story of the scrolls is the only remaining part of a secret history long though by the powers to be totally destroied long ago.
those in the high places of respect and power can only hope that nothing more will follow from the work done by the group of homins that decoded the scrolls. only time will tell if that will be true or not, and the powerful will simply have to wait and hope that intrest of the scrolls story will slowly fade.

chapter 29 (the great explorers)

the great explorers announcement

attention all homins of all nations and those homins with no nation:

as a group of like minded homins, some from each nation, and some with no nation, have come together with a common goal once again. many of us are the same homins that you have come to support while working on the fragments of the lost scrolls. the goal we speak of is to strike out and find the rumored lands that the forgotten scrolls speak of. these are rumors of lands long forgotten to us all. we have the desire to find these lands no matter how far we must travel, no matter what the cost. no dangers will stop our efforts. our goal is to find the way to these lands, and to return to provide passage to all homins who desire to travel to and from. we know not how long this great exploration will take us, or what the costs shall be to both our purse and our health. the fragments speak as though there is at least 1 distant land, perhaps there may be as many as four, after all there are 4 distinct races of homins and as much like the lands we now know there could be similar lands that each of the races may have came from. there is little known of these lands beyond what the scrolls speak of, and what is known is only a rumor if you believe the powers that be. but we have faith that there must be some truth to the scrolls. there are many of us that plan to strike out on this journey. we have planned to go in four separate teams of explorers, one from each of the 4 nations. our departure and this report post will be the same day, and we only ask that all homins keep us in their thoughts as we attempt to seek the lands the scrolls speak of. we will stay in contact with the rest of atys via trained izams with updates of each teams progress. it's our goal to prove that the scrolls are not a foolish story as those in power would have everyone believe.

chapter 30 (those against the great explorers)

we in power had thought this matter long forgotten. now it seams these foolish homins are trying to rally everyone to believe in the tales of those worthless scrolls. there's still no proof that those scrolls are anything other then garbage. now they want to try to find the lands they think those scrolls are talking about. how could their be any lands that we don't already know about? wouldn't someone have already found them if there was?
yet again we would like homins to find better things to invest time and effort into. it's our hope that this will be the true end of the foolishness.

chapter 31 (the great explorers)

messages home, sent on by the wings of izams

homins of the lake lands:
our journey has taken us through great trials, we have fought our way through unexplored beaches and wilderness for many days now, but still we've not reached anything that resembles the lands the rumors speak of. we seek the rumored lost cities and forgotten lands. we will continue to fight onward into the unknown seeking those lost cities of the lakes.

homins of the jungle lands:
our journey has taken us through the darkest parts of the jungle days of travel beyond the known borders. yet still we've not reached the rumored lost cities and forgotten lands of the jungle. we have had many encounters along the way with creatures both peaceful and dangerous. our will is still strong and we are still determined to press onward into the unknown.

homins of the desert lands:
our grand adventure through the forgotten sands of the forbidden desert wastes has put us through great challenges. at the time of dispatching this letter home we have still not found the rumored lost cities and forgotten lands of the desert. with our honor intact we intend to press on deeper into the wastes confident that we will find what we set out to find.

homins of the forest lands:
our journey through the forgotten mazes beyond the known borders of the forest has taken us through many perils. it saddens us to report that at this time we've yet to discover the rumored lost cities and forgotten lands of the forest. while our efforts thus far have yet to provide us with the fruits of our dreams, we will continue to press ever onward until we do.

homins without nations (upon each of the 4 messages to the homin lands is their secret code):
to our masses at home in the lands of the homin nations:
unknown to the citizens with which we travel we're in regular contact with each party, our trained izams have carried messages back and forth between the four groups since we first set out. as always we have no trust for the homins of the nations. it's difficult to be around these citizens of the nations when they speak of their homelands as we feel as outcasts. however our goal at this time is a common one, so we shall endure the challenge of being with them. most of the time it is of little notice that they follow the ways of what they call civilized society. while they are not likely to admit it, there is no doubt that they are glad to have us with them, as our skills of living off the land are far more honed then theirs are. we have had many encounters which have proven to them that our skills are a needed part of this adventure into the unknown. these lands may offer a home without government rule, cities that we can freely enter as we please. for far too long we've been living as outcasts of the homin governments and the religions, perhaps we'll find the rumored lost cities in the forgotten lands and a place to be free and proud. until that time we'll press on with our undying hope to be free of the oppression of the governments and religions of the known lands.

chapter 32 (the great explorers)

2nd set of messages home, sent again on the wings of izams

homins of the lake lands:
little has changed in the days since our last message was sent home. we have found signs of homin life here and there along our path, little more then camp sites. these sites have been long abandoned and long forgotten. we hope that these sites are a sign that we are indeed on the right path. we shall continue to fight onward.

homins of the jungle lands:
through the days that have passed since our last message home little has changed other then were we now find ourselves. still in an unknown place we have found what seam to be signs of homin life long forgotten. our best idea is that it's abandon hunting camps. it is the hope of our group that we're on the right path to the lost cities of rumor. these abandon camps have given us further strength to press even deeper into the unknown.

homins of the desert lands:
our adventures have taken us even deeper into the wastes of the unknown. we are sending home a message of our newest discoveries, what appear to us all as long abandon and forgotten camp sites. there is little we can learn from these sites we've passed, but they give us hope that we're on the right path. we feel that these signs of life, however old they are, are proof that we are not foolish in our quest to find the lost cities of rumor. our honor is strong as ever and we press on deeper still into the unknown wastes in seek of our goal.

homins of the forest lands:
our journey has provided us with the first fruits of success. we have found what look to be long abandon and forgotten camp sites. what purpose these sites served are unknown to us, but we feel that these are a sure sign that the path we're taking is the right one. our dream to find the long lost and forgotten cities has only be brightened by our newest discoveries. we shall continue to press ever onward with the unyielding desire to make the dream a reality.

homins without nations (again upon the messages to the homin lands is a message in secret code):
to the nation-less masses:
with our secret contact between the 4 groups we have learned that each of the groups has found long abandon camp sites. to our sharpened eyes and well shared descriptions we have found that the sites each group have found resemble each other. though not exactly the same, we believe that they are all alike enough to call these sites hunting camps. perhaps there are other homins here in the unknown wilderness. while we've yet to see any sign that they are still around now, we feel that it's a sign that we are not the first to set foot in these unexplored places. we all in the teams agree that these are signs that we are indeed on the right route to find the rumored lost cities in the forgotten lands. it's our strong belief that we will perhaps find them and find a place to call home without the oppression of the homin nations and religions that oppress us now, a place that all homins are treated equally.

chapter 33 (those against the great explorers)

now these homins claim to find various sites on their journeys into some unknown lands that no one's been in before. how are we to believe this? if there are other lands beyond the borders of the known lands why hasn't anyone else ever found them? why aren't homins getting lost in these lands that they speak of?
it seams to us in power that they are once again doing as those that worked on the so called forgotten scrolls did, make it up as they go. what proof can they offer us to show that it's all true, and even if they did how would we be sure it's really proof?
please don't follow the wild and crazy stories of the so called great explorers, there are far better things to do with your time.

chapter 34 (the great explorers)

3rd set of messages home, once more sent on the wings of izams.

homins of the lake lands:
several seasons have changed since our last message was sent home. there is little new to report on our journey. from time to time we find those long abandon camps we spoke of in our last report home, none of which have given us any new insight in who made them. we continue to fight onward into the unknown, we still have hope to find those forgotten cities in the rumored lands of lost.

homins of the jungle lands:
seasons have changed since our last message we sent homeward. we have little to report back to all of you, other then how much farther we have ventured into the unknown. we've passed more of those long abandoned camp sites, but they have offered no help to us on our path into the unknown. we hope that we're on the right track to find the rumored lost cities. have no fear in our strength to go on, our will is as strong as ever. we will not let you all down.

homins of the desert lands:
our adventure has moved on while the seasons changed around us. there's been little new for us to report back to all of you at home. we have continued to find signs of long forgotten and abandoned camps like those we reported back to you in our previous dispatch home. our honor is intact and strong as ever, we will do our people proud and press on deeper still into these unknown wastes, if there are lost cities like those rumored to be we will find them.

homins of the forest lands:
the seasons have came and went around us as we move further on our path. there isn't much we can report that would be new to all of you. we've found more of those long abandon camp sites along our way, but we don't know what to make of them. it's the feelings of our group that they are a sign that we're on ground that has been visited once before and we may be on the right path. it's still our goal to find the lost cities of rumor, and our dream to find them is still strong as we press ever onward.

homins without nations (again upon the messages to the homin lands in secret code):
to those without nations:
the seasons have changed a few times now as we press ever onward in our quest to find the rumored lost cities. we've learned that all 4 teams have found more of the abandoned camp sites, and while the masses of the teams feel they're not changing any and there is nothing new to learn from any of them, our trained eyes have noticed signs that suggest that the age of the sites is not the same. the farther we go and the more sites we find the more we notice that each site is slightly older then the last. it's our belief now that if we continue on this route that we may come upon the source of those that made these sites. it's our hope that we will find those rumored lost cities and the lands that are free of governments and religions. it's that desire that will keep us pressing onward, for the hope that we can one day be free of oppression and have a place to finally call free.

chapter 35 (the great explorers)

homins of the lake lands:

(a blank scroll)

homins of the jungle lands:

(a blank scroll)

homins of the desert lands:

(a blank scroll)

homins of the forest lands:

(a blank scroll)

homins without a nation know nothing of this, as the receiving parties did not feel any need to post a blank scroll for the masses to read. each of the four receiving homin groups that receive the letters from the great explorers didn't tell anyone that a blank scroll was received. they felt that there was no reason to cause alarm with the masses that something had happened to the great explorers. they each had sent messages to each other to have a meeting and so the meeting was held, they agreed that they would wait and see if another message followed. they each felt and agreed that because there was an izam with a blank scroll sent to each of them that the great explorers were still out there, that perhaps something happened that they could not have planned for, perhaps the ink had washed away on the long flight back. it was agreed that they would wait until the next message was received to see if it happened again. there was some worry amongst the receivers of the home lands, but no action would be taken yet. they were left with questions that they could not at this time answer, and only time would offer any answers.

chapter 36 (the great explorers)

homins of atys:
four seasons have passed since our last report. this report comes with news both bad and good. we had come to suspect the nation-less homins in our party of something less then forthcoming. prior to the message we were about to send at the end of the first season since our last report there was a ominous feeling that there was something about them that we didn't fully know. because of this worry we carefully observed them as we prepared the message home. the night prior to the release of our izam to carry it home, we found the nation-less homins scrawling something at the bottom of the message. it was not something we could read, like a code of some sort. we confronted them about it, and they claimed it was a blessing of some kind to guide the izam home safely. while the discussion was going on, the message was switched with a blank scroll. we knew that a single blank scroll would not need to be posted, nor would it raise any serious alarm. little did we know that the same things were taking place in each of the teams.
we kept a close watch on the homins with no nation and quickly noticed that one of them was always going off on his or her own when we set up camp. at first we didn't let it bother us too much, we simply took notice. after a few days of this we decided that it would be best to follow the homin that left. we found a disturbing fact out when we did, the homins of no nation are sending messages back and forth to the other groups. this fact would not be disturbing if not for the fact that it was done as a secret to the rest of us. that fact and the fact of the strange "code" they had added to the last message gave us reason to worry.
there was a long talk and open discussion with all the members of the party, no member was excluded from this discussion. there were those in the party that wanted to expel the homins with no nation. this was not something that the majority of the group wanted to do, and the few that did were quickly persuaded by the rest. we reminded each other of the single idea that we banded together with, that this was to better the entire homin race, not any single group of homins, meaning neither homins with or without nation or religion. an agreement was made with the homins of no nation, that from that point on there would be no secrets.
the day following the discussion there was a message sent to the other teams of this new agreement between the homins of nations and the homins of no nation. the reply we received the next day was that this was agreed without question by each of the other teams. it seamed that in the time we had all been traveling together there had been a trust built up between us. this was good for us all, and for our futures together as truly united teams with a common goal.
we had agreed through the new found communication between the teams that all messages back to home would be the same. we learned from the homins with no nation that the camp sites were getting older as we went deeper into the unknown, and that they were indeed very old and long abandoned. it was amazing to learn that we were all finding things that were similar on our separate paths.
the wills of the teams is now stronger then it ever was before. our new found unity has give us new belief in our chance to succeed in our quest to find the lost cities of rumor in the forgotten lands. we will find these cities and the lost lands together with a common interest, freedom and advancement of all homins equally. for the better of all homins on atys this is our pledge to each other and to those back home that support us.

chapter 37 (those against the great explorers)

lies and deception in the self named great explorers teams, and they admit it openly. we in power urge homins to think about that. how can you trust anything they say if something so evil and against the homin nations is taking place? why would they think that suddenly it would change and that they can now suddenly trust the homins of no nation? how foolish are they in letting them stay in their group.
this is one of the many reasons that we in power are trying to keep homins away from these radical groups, it shames us to know that there are even citizens willing to try work with the homins of no nation. they have never done anything to help the nations or the religions for that matter, and in fact do everything they can to upset our peaceful civilizations. how much longer will they try to feed everyone lies and try to convince homins that what they say is the truth?
it's time to stop giving them your support now, before this mockery can go on any longer. do not waste your time and efforts on these great explorers and their doings. go on with your lives and pursue more productive things in life then wild stories and crazy notions. we implore you to not be caught up in yet another hoax to distract you from something more important.

chapter 38 (the great explorers)

homins of atys:
the trail has become hard for all teams, our reports to one another all describe far more encounters with aggressive creatures. it's come to now require that we have a few members of each team stand guard in turns every time we set up camp. attacks are now coming every time we camp. the fighting to make progress in our journey is as regular now as the change of the seasons. the homins without nation all agree that this is not good for any of us, and fear that we may be running into dangers we never foresaw.
it's our belief in the teams now that this seemingly endless wall of aggressive creatures is the reason why these camps are so long abandon and unused. the homins of no nation agree that it's a likely reason. they have begun to inspect every abandon site we find, searching for clues to those that used them. they believe that learning about those that used them may guide the way to the lost cities and lands of rumor.
we know that with the constant risk of attack from aggressive creatures in this ever increasingly hostile land this will not be an easy task, but we're all in agreement that it's not something we're willing to give up on. we intend to press on even deeper into the wilderness. the desire to find the lost cities in the lands of rumor are as strong as ever.

chapter 39 (the great explorers)

homins of atys:
something new worthy of the dispatch of a message home. one of our teams has discovered something of interest at one of the abandon camp sites we've been finding. by pure chance this great find was discovered. as all of you at home know, we've been fighting aggressive creatures at every turn on our journey. as a result of these seemingly endless encounters our weapons are in need of regular replacement. as our luck and wise planning had it we have in each team masters of craft and of harvesting. which was in our thinking as important as the masters fighters and mage's. it was this wise foresight that has allowed this discovery to come to pass.
while collecting much needed materials for the crafter's to replace items that were almost beyond use a lucky stroke of the pick stuck something not expected. as the harvester was seeking ambers with which to use for crafting amps, the sound of bark being struck was heard. this was not to be expected as there should not have been any in this area of harvest. curious as to why this would happen the harvester looked closely at where their pick had struck, and to his amazement he saw what could not be. an object that from what could be seen looked as though it was crafted. so the harvester carefully began to remove the coverings of this object. as more of the object was uncovered it was clear that it was not of nature. soon it was uncovered and clearly in view, it was a box of some sort. made of bark and covered with ambers.
by now the harvester had sent for the rest of the team, and together they quickly removed it from the ground which it had been hidden in. carefully the team worked at trying to open it and after some time and effort did so. inside this box were scrolls and a single set of jewels, armor, and daggers. the jewels, armor, and daggers were in the words of the teams master crafter's some of the finest they had ever seen.
it was the scrolls that interested us most of all, as they were much like the ones that started us on this grand adventure from home. they were of the same type and seamed as aged as the old scrolls which the rumors and legends are based on. however these differ from those at home. they don't seam to be in any code, but wrote in what the homins without nations call the old texts. the homins without nation claim that while this is no longer used in our lands, it's still taught to those that desire to lean it, and as fate may have it we have one with us that learned it. though we have one that learned it the ink that was used to write upon the scrolls has faded and made them hard to read. to be sure that the messages written are correctly read we're going to allow the one to study them for a few days to learn the secrets they contain.
as soon as the secrets they hold are clearly read we shall again dispatch a message home. until that day we intend to continue onward on our journey. it is still our goal to find the rumored cities and lands and we don't intend to give up that goal.

chapter 40 (the great explorers)

homins of atys:
after a full season of study and hard travels we have news to report. the old text from the scroll found by one of the teams has been read. it speaks of great dangers from vicious beasts, and a dangerous climb down a steep and difficult path. it goes on to say that these are the writings of brave homins that ventured out from the safety of the cities in search of new lands.
there is one scroll that speaks of the items left behind in the chest. according to the scroll they are the work of one of the very greatest master crafter's. it describes them as being of the best quality, with the most magical powers they could be blessed with. it further says that there are few crafter's that know the ways to craft items of this quality and that those secrets were closely guarded. it finishes to say that it's the hope that one day these items will be found by brave homins willing to take the journey either too or from the cities.
it seams that they are speaking of the rumored lost cities, as there is no known record of any homins of our lands venturing out prior to us. we are curious as to what they are saying by a dangerous climb up a steep and difficult path. we've looked to the horizons and see nothing we know to look to that would offer a steep and difficult path dangerous or otherwise. we've all spoken in our teams, and through our communications with the other teams, we're now all looking for hills and mountains.
it seams that there is indeed good reason for the quest's we all choose to embark upon.
we shall all continue to move forward and we now intend to investigate every camp site we come to, in the hopes that we can find more clues. we'll report more to you all at home as soon as there's more to report.

suddenly and randomly they find something at one of these sites? why didn't they send these scrolls they found home to be shared with everyone?, rather they just tell us a brief description of what they tell. how is it that they're wrote in an old text that only a homin of no nation would know? how can we trust that homin to be honest about what it says, they've clearly proven in the past they can't be trusted. they claim there are items recovered as well, will we ever see these items to prove they existed or will they be lost or wore out by use? let's also not forget that it took a full season to read them to be sure of what they said, what surprise will they try to offer us next?
they're working very hard at telling a convincing story to everyone here in the main lands, but where is the proof beyond their reports?
once more we ask homins to go on about their lives and not pay mind to the crazy tales that are the supposed correspondence of these great explorers.
