I am, finally, level 2 toolmaker, and I need some weaker mekoubs than what I have found. The strongest mektoub I can kill is a Gruff Mektoub. Barely. Where in Fyros-land can I find a Scampering/Sprightly/Robust/Wary/Gluttonous/Grunting Mektoub. I have looked all around the Imperial Desert, and Oflovak's Oasis, but I can find nothing weaker than a Gruff Mektoub.

Can someone give me a hint?

try outside zora in jungle, while toolmaker is based in desert, as far as the occ is concerned (i think like other missions) a mektoub is a mektoub, regardless of what land it's in. (i could be wrong, and if it doesn't work please let me know for the future)

My recommendation is to shun the hunting loot as much as possible when doing toolmaker. You may always give up and retake the mission and use dig mat instead. the hunting loot is a mess. You get the wanted one every five times you kill the right creature, and usually, have to kill 5 or 6 weaker creatures before the right 2 or 3 will respawn.

Been there, done that. Some seasons it's a cakewalk, sometimes it's Kipucka mating season and they all camp the ramp. I think my first time through there wiped me and four masters three times while there are a couple times I've made it without getting within 30m of anything.

It's all a matter of timing.
