                       Great crafting contest




                          Following the proposal of Serae Zendae and Ser Erminantius, the court of Karae organize a contest of heavy armor crafting.

Competitors will have to propose two recipes for the heavy armor. One called "big recipe" for cuirass, leg harness, helmet, and another "small recipe" for greaves, spaulders and gauntlets.

The principle is to search for the cheapest recipe while being resistant to perforating strikes.

The recipe will have to display :

                      A potential of parry of at least 75%
                      A potential of protection factor of at least 95%
                      A potential of perforating threshold of at least 95%
                      And a potential of durability of at least 80%

Only the basic matis plan is accepted, with a craft quality from 25th circle. The armor must be white colored.

The contest is open to Karan's vassals but also extended to all homin versed in matis crafting.

The contest will be closed in two weeks

For each recipe :
The winner will be offered a prize of 300 generic forest materials from 25th circle, and the two other finalists will be offered a prize of 100 generic forest material from 25th circle.

Jury will be composed of Serae Zendae, Ser Smoker and Ser Erminantius.

The recipe must be kept secret, it will be revealed to the jury only at the second stage of the contest.

The recipe must absolutly meet the minimals criterions, while beeing the as cheap as possible.

Every one may attend, shall you have the noble soul of a craftsman. Their is no need to make the stuff strictly said. Prizes will be distributed during court of the Karae.

STAGE 1

For the first stage of this contest, each competitor is going to self-declare hereafter the number of "credits" his two recipes are using.

One credit is the unity of our recipe's saving rating system. Each material ask for a certain amount of credits.

• base, fine : 1 credit
• harvested choice : 2 credits
• haversted excellent : 3 credits
• looted excellent : 4 credits
• looted choice : 5 credits
• harvested supreme : 7 credits
• looted supreme de : 9 credits

When your both recipe are achieved, make a annoucement here for the number of credit used by each one. This count as a contest entry and acceptation of the rules.

Example :
big recipe : 132 credits
small recipe : 99 credits

Do not provide the number of credit for the whole armor. Only those used by one making with each recipe. A vest and a pair of boot for example.

Of course you should use the less credit as possible ! Designers of the three best recipes according to this rating system will go to second stage of the contest.

It's allowed to refine your recipe and make another declaration that replace the first one. Do not edit your saying after someone put a reply next to it.
At same number of credit, it's the one who did the earliest declaration that win.

Do not let yourself intimidated by wacky declarations that may be posted.

Pay attention that the big and small recipes are in competition in a separate way. There will be a winner for each one, not necessarly the same. It's allowed to compete for only one of the both recipes.

STAGE 2

In the final of the context, designers have to provide sealed their recipe(s) to jurors.

• We check if the recipe meets the criterions
• We check if the number of credit used match what was declared in stage 1

Wrong declarations will eliminate the competitor for the benefit of another one.

Then the 3 recipes will be assessed according to criterions that are not reflected by the credit system.

• Rarity of the material. Avoid Kizokoo's shell for example.
• Maximum eventually reached, while still a cheap recipe
• Value of other caracteristics of the item that are not among mandatory's ones
• Elegance of recipe

In the second stage, the designer is allowed to propose a variation of his recipe, which -despite it may ask for 2 or 3 more credit- will bring interesting result.

Recipes will be the subject of a public comment, but won't be detaily revealed.

Les artisans fyros peuvent-ils aussi participer ? Se faire battre en combat singulier par un kamiste c'est une chose. Mais si un Matis ne remporte pas un concours d'artisanat le Karan ne sera pas content... pas content du tout !
Peut-être que ce sujet a été évoqué lors de la dernière réunion des nobles à Yrkanis, je n'ai malheureusement pas pu y assister jusqu'au bout.

Pour ce qui est du Juge on a trouvé le troisiéme déjà. Mais je te remercie quand même de ta candidature.
Par contre je précise bien qu'il s'agit d'un concours de RECETTES, pas besoin de fabriquer les morceaux d'armures...

C'était juste pour ceux qui cherchent et vous donnent les recettes, la possibilité d'avoir leur armure au final quand même :p

Si j'ai bien compris, les matis, ayant besoin de nouvelles recettes, créent un concours pour récupérer les meilleurs recettes? C'est fin, très fin. Et pire, ils encouragent les fyros à participer pour leur voler leurs astuces. Halala, toujours aussi fourbes ces matis.

Matis mainly enjoy opportunities to compete.
So ? if you are a craftsman able to horn in, prove it.
In the end, it's still the best who wins.

Vous voyez, serae Zendae, vous auriez dut m'écouter. Si on avait fait ce concours entre matis nous n'aurions pas eu ce genre de commentaire...
