Ah, Virg, while Salazar doesn't have anything to do with the planning of the tournament, being not a fighter, as a politician he certainly wouldn't come up with an idea like yours. Flatly said, if I want to make a public point like the one suggested by you, I would first make sure that my side wins, by hook or by crook. But that's probably just me, and I'm no longer in a politicial position, so it doesn't count. ;)

As for the possibility of participation of the Fyros: As far as I remember, no decision was made at the Yrkanis Assembly. Rodi di Varello asked to have it dicussed with the subjects, and then a decision given to the Court. The one thing which obviously went wrong here was that it was only discussed at Avalae, with Natae and Davae having no word in it (and subjects limited to those attending that assembly at Avalae).

People can find it quite easily within their roleplay to include marauders but the actual player themselves does not want to involve them. I put forward some very easy suggestions at which people could allow marauders to join in this event. Their RP hands are not tied. They have a choice- yet they choose to exclude marauders.

I thought the idea of "Let's make fools of the marauders and show them we are better" was a good one... hence my fight club suggestion.
I have a feeling that a fair few people don't invite mara into doing something like that, besides the lore of the land, is through worry of being beaten.
I mean, if i was to hold an event and invite marauders knowing how pvp minded they are, I would have to be pretty damn sure i could at least take a couple down to save face :P

I hope a tryker wins their tournament but i suspect Elv's team will be in with the best chance :)

They could drop the hp of a city's guards for a night and get rid of their instant respawn.. providing an opportunity to storm a city.. other players can tag up and join in as resistance.

Most of the translations are done now by other players. So usually you need one who can translate English to French and back. Most German players (not all, though) understand English. But indeed, you should make sure someone can do the hard work - and is willing to do so.

Honestly? I just think this got blown out of proportion.

It's not about people not wanting marauder hence excluding them, at least not in this particular case. As Zendae stated, anyone is welcome to come watch. However, only the people she mentioned are allowed to participate because that is the context of the event.

It is the same as saying Ma-Duk would fight in a tournament organised by Jena, for karavan, to prove his/it's value to her. Simply senseless.

To Virg: I definitely agree that the Marauders need a lot more love Virg! Events, government meetings, etc. It's a hard life for the Maras atm. I think the event team is very overworked atm though, and plus there's the translation issue as well. They could probably benefit from more volunteers.

I like the fight club idea though!

Marauders were told we would have our own anim member.. 3 months ago... whats the point in holding a meeting with no anim team member present? We just talk about those things in guild chat..

The point is the marauders can't come for "roleplay reasons".. so what are we do to? It would be roleplay to turn up and slaughter you all whilst tagged but the amount of crying that would take place.. every homin would drown from the tears.. additionally I bet the event team would kill us with invisible people again.. what a joke.

So basically we can't attend for RP reasons and the second we do we get killed by invisible guards for "roleplay reasons".

i think a postion for a mara event leader is still open... heard someone got the 'job' but then couldn't do it in the end.

as for roleplaying, that's a fair point.

btw would you invite the drug dealer gangsters of you city to your daughter's birthday...
But self inviting you to rush and adapt the event would effectively be part of your RP...
the faction, allegiances should allow people to have a different way of playing, not only a different sticker on the head

Why should it be different in a game ?
Stop thinking that not inviting you is spoiling your fun. Just organize stuff on your own and see how that turns up. People are not "forced" to include you in what they do, they can freely decide for themselves. This is not even a RP question.

Wouldn't be so much of an issue if the anim team actually spent time on the marauders as well but seeing as we get nothing then would be great if where the anim team are actually putting their time into could be made of use to us as well..

Don't say this is a player event and the anim team aren't involved. If we turned up we would get ganked by invisible guards like at the last matis event.

Je pense qu'il ne faut pas oublier que c'est un event proposé par des joueurs pour un cadre bien précis .. ici fournir un emploi dans la cour du karan.

Maintenant, je ne crois pas qu'il y ait une volonté des animateurs de ne pas intégrer tel ou tel groupe dans les events... Je comprends que ce soit frustrant, de voir quelque chose s'organiser dans la partie qu'on aime particulièrement jouer (ici le pvp) sans y être invité. Et d'un autre côté, proposer des events qui prennent en compte le RP d'une nation et qui rallient toutes les factions, ce n'est pas si évident.

J'en reviens à mon idée du Grinch (sûrement un peu tard pour cette année mais peut être adaptable pour une autre fête) . Demander à un animateur de faire pop les cadeaux dans une zone pvp et tant que la zone n'est pas nettoyée, les cadeaux ne peuvent pas pop ailleurs ? Je ne pense pas que ce soit si compliqué à mettre en place et ça peut promettre une bonne partie de courses poursuite. Libre cours à votre imagination pour proposer des jeux pvp sans attendre que les nations vous invitent..

Virg -- statements like that last are indefensible. Unless you have some secret line into the Event Team planning sessions, you can't know that. The last Matis event was the fashion show. Is that what you were referring to? I hadn't heard anything about disruptions or blasting Mara at that event.


I see a lot of planning on the part of Zendae to set up this event through the *player* government (and some significant degree of error in at least part of it). I see no evidence that the Event Team is involved, and certainly no evidence that it *needs* to be involved since the event uses already built in game mechanisms and already formed landscape.

Certainly the Marauders need some Event Team love, but as has been pointed out, a lot of Event Team involvement follows on planning by the players. Only a few of the events in Atys are initiated by the Event Team, and all of those are characterized by glacial slowness of planning and development. Things like the Tryker Faire, the Matis Fashion show, are driven by the players. When player involvement fails (as has apparently happened with the Beer and Water Road), the event either slows down or dies.

If you want to compare complaints, I have a number about he slowness with which the Ranger faction is being developed. It appears that we aren't even going to get a camp like the Maras have, and we still don't have access to the PR. It would be great if we had enough Event Team to handle this all, and a dozen devs to code it...but we don't.
