[OC] This RP post was written with the hope that until the marauder camp gets a big trepan and tree bore crafters, that the Fairhaven crafters fame requirement should be lowered to allow us access to buy the OP -duk and -jen plans. It should hopefully be an easy change to implement. [/OC]


Virg struggled to stay conscious as he lay on the beach of Avendale. In the distance, he heard the thumps of the massive group of Tryker guards who had come to the rescue of the Tryker assembly that he had just attacked with his family. The guards had taken quite a while to arrive so clearly they had swam from a neighboring city, most likely Crystabell or Fairhaven. Hopefully Fairhaven or else their attack had been just to warn the assembly to leave their sister, Grizabella, alone.

A foot came into view as Jazzy stepped forward with a rye smile on his face. Virg knew he didn't have much time, or else he risked capture. He reached out and clenched his fist squeezing a drop of blood into the sand, quietly whispering the words, "I embrace my punishment and thank you for your gift Melkiar". With that, thick black tendrils of smoke curled out of the sandy beach, entwining and enveloping him.

Light flared around him and he found himself standing just outside Fairhaven, near the Kami teleporter. He felt a sudden rush and a surge of strength as Cramer, the exceedingly tall Zorai, casually swiped his right hand towards him, instantly healing him. The Syndicate members strode forward purposefully towards Fairhaven. With the army currently in Avendale their task would be a lot simpler and more subtle.


Jirana Cevino and Senn Mac'Carn were once again, as they always did, arguing. The local homins of Fairhaven were still in complete disbelief that after all this time Jarana and Senn still stood next to each other, each refusing to move from their favorite spot. Today they were arguing about the finer details of their crafting plans, particularly concerning vedice weapons. Jirana yelled out in frustration "Eugghhh! You half wit fool! In fact you completely lack any wit what so ever! Can you not see that by rubbing the vedice sap from left to right, the sword is made stronger! Rubbing right then left just simply does not." He cut of sharply as a shadow loomed over them both, silhouetted by the sun. As they peered closer the shadow moved to one side momentarily blinding both crafters as the sun flared in their eyes. Once they readjusted to the light what they saw froze them in their place. A tall homin, most definately Zorai, stood at the forefront of a group dressed in white Erouk'an armour. They recognized the group of marauders instantly, all armed to the teeth. They glanced around for the guards and found none. This group, Syndicate as they referred to themselves, had been responsible for many attacks on Fairhaven recently. A very short homin stepped forward and took off his Klam helmet and spoke with a grin on his face, "Lets have a little chat shall we".


Senn watched the marauders leave and turned to Jirana with a worried look on his face, "What are we going to do? They just strolled in here! Where were the guards!?". Jirana seemed lost for words but eventually spoke in a small whisper and muttered, "I think we should teach them what they want to know. Hopefully they will get their own teachers soon enough and then will leave us be".

i agree that something should be done about this, it's not fair for the mara's to not have the same options as the rest of us, at the very least they should have the same trainers and npc's for at least the basic gameplay mech's. hair dressers (not sure if that's been fixed yet) OP crafter npc's (clearly an issue based on virg's observations) a way for them to access all the markets, not just the forest market (should be fixed for everyone game wide in my opinion, and could improve the use of the market system).

another option virg for the in place npc's is the op craft trainers in zora, they're close to the kod exit, and would only require some guards being changed so that you could access them. (the new guards in lakes make it very hard to get in from what i've been told)

i'd like to stress the point that the mara's need to have these npc's in their own camp, since it's the only place they can freely come and go, they should have everything there that we have as non-mara's in terms of npc's for basic gameplay reasons.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

Yep well just decided on FH considering we were there in force yesterday :)

I agree with you talk- the end game should be the the marauders with access to the NPCs in our camp. Just hoping this can be done as a quick fix!

Just tried on suboxide (-100 all mara) => unsubbed now like my other alt but sub runs out in some weeks

He was able to buy maga amps like I've always known mara could in FH without porbs. (well until event team decided to personally harras me and added these guards since now you buy a plan and die (mpa doesn't work against those stupid forced RP harrasement guards either))

Why would the Kami or the Karavan or any city official teach any plans to the Marauders? Seems to me the Marauders would develop their own OP plans just as they did with their teleport system and, of course, those plans would only be taught to Marauders.

WIth that out of the way, the Marauders really need—as has been said time and again—a bit more love and care. They need trainers and merchants of every sort of their own.

Well I'm not saying they should teach us but they where the only option for learning them. Now event team removed that option nerfing mara even more. Atm since merge all mara got is bugs and nerfs (and they where nerfed big time already before merge) it is sad but seems event team hates mara atm and doesn't wanna do anything for them.

Did you read the RP post? The whole point was that we threatened the FH tree bore and big trepan crafters to teach us when we wanted. This is a quick temporary fix whilst we wait to get our own crafters in the camp.

As for marauders using marauder only plans- this doesn't work for kami and kara. Any kara can learn the kami plans and vice versa.

Yes I read it, you must have missed the rhetorical nature of the question asked. Clearly, it had its intended effect, it lead right into what you wrote about the difference (or absolute lack thereof outside cosmetics) between Kami and Karavan plans/mats. If there is to be no true difference between Kami/Karavan/Marauder/Rangers/Whomever other than Fame and teleport locations, then duplicate the city NPCs and plop them into the Marauder camp already!

This is a quick temporary fix whilst we wait to get our own crafters in the camp.

Not so "quick" - has been since Mara were 1st introduced

If there is to be no true difference between Kami/Karavan/Marauder/Rangers/Whomever other than Fame and teleport locations, then duplicate the city NPCs and plop them into the Marauder camp already!

I assume this is not as easy as you make out Anzhanto - otherwise it would have been done long ago - on the other hand maybe Atyss does not like mara, as Suboxide pointed out, and has no intention of allowing them to do occupations (for dappers), use op plans (in theory no point in fighting for ops), change hair or tattoos, trade with hawkers (making anyone who is mara drag around packers to store mats) ... not much point in becoming mara really, except for extra bag space for digging in Prime Roots (no tp's)

Well done Syndicate for managing to involve the French in role play in Avendale, but unfortunatly it has had the effect that Suboxide will be leaving game unless there is some way to make a space safe for sitting at stables, he does not want to role play except for any cross-Atyss role play, and will not attack guards or Trykers, after supporting the game by subbing 2 accounts for so long - as well as making the guild laugh and helping out new refugees (told him to stop rezzing and giving guild dappers to them!) it seems Atyss has managed to throw him out.

It seems one must re-read Anzhanto's post several times to uncover the layers of thought, planning and meaning behind them ^^ Brings me back to year 10 english lit :P

Bina I assume his quip about copying and plopping NPCs into the marauder camp is actually meant to be sarcastic as in several cases, including the barman, that is what was actually done.

By quick, I mean it could be quick as they could drop the fame requirement of the two crafters today therefore allowing marauders access to buy the plans. It makes logical sense to do so until we can have our own OP plan crafting teachers and now, hopefully, it has a RP backing if people are happy to accept what I wrote.

As for the new guards I suggest making a separate topic.

This post, whilst mentioning the new guards, is about asking the fame requirement on the 2 crafters to be removed so marauders can access the OP plans. It mentions the guards only to add a touch of realism to the RP backstory.

Virg have you actually tried the crafters in FH? I as a mara with -100 fame in everything can buy the plans there without problems. As a test case I bought the maga amp plan from them yesterday without a problem. Fitis can do the same and so can Marceline but for some reason Marceline can only see the tools plans so he is kind of bugged.
I know other mara in the past also went to FH to buy them there when I directed them they could buy those there in the past without problems. (maybe new mara are bugged I don't know but I've never heard a mara not being able to buy those plans in the past.

*Hides* We can get the plans. Sorry quite a few people thought we couldn't but should have tested myself first.

Anyways at least there is a RP reason why xD

Then I guess the point of this thread now is can we have our own crafters in the camp? :P

Do try yourself Virg since I've had tixi tell us she heard some can't and well marcel for some reason only can get the tool plans (maybe a mac bug but fitis is also on mac and can buy em all)
