It's been exactly 2 years since the last release! KipeeCraft is still alive and got some minor updates and bugfixes for 1.1a. You are now able to customize the material slot right click behaviour and edit your database more comfortable. The CDS Editor (located at \DB\CDS_Edit.exe) has been improved and is now able to export and import Databases to and from .csv (Excel can open them). The new release is slightly larger in size, as the old UPX compressed executable could trigger false positives with certain anti virus programs.

To migrate your old version to 1.1a just copy your kc.ini file and your Recipe directory over to the new one (and your Databases, if you made any changes to it). Please refer to the Changelog for a complete list of changes since the last release. You can get the latest version of KC here, as usual:

Thanks to everyone who helped and encouraged me to continue with the project! Please contact me for questions, bugs and suggestions - you can reach me via mail (Feedback link on the page or inside KC) or post in this thread.

Thank you Arcueid ^_^

I just noticed, KC was displaying a large amount of decimals for the "exact" display modes. This was added for testing purpose but didnt reveal anything new. I forgot to change it back for the release, please re-dowload KC if it bothers you, it's now fixed.

Thanks!

#9 Report | Quote[en]

I've been contacted about antivirus programs reporting the included file "KipeeCraft\DB\cds_edit.exe" as false positive. I'm not aware of any manipulations to the binary files I provide via http://puyo.de/kipeecraft/ or my mirror https://app.box.com/s/c5227dbe63666efd949a

However I take these reports very serious and decided to release the source code of this simple utility, so you can browse it and build a copy yourself. You probably need a version of Delphi to compile it, I haven't found a way to make it work with Lazarus yet. If you found a solution for Lazarus, please don't hesitate to contact me.

You can find the source (and freshly build binary) in the the box folder above or directly via https://app.box.com/s/skye04bveb4w4dmeyt7o

Thank you. Releasing the source code is a very good think and I can only hope you'll do the same for the whole project. However, now you released the source code, everyone can see your double copyright infringement. I urge you to acknowledge the following issues and take action in order to respect the licences of the third-party software you uses.

FastcodeCPUID.pas

This source code is released under the MPL 1.1 licence. This licence allows you to distribute binaries only if this binary and its documentation include a specific notice.
3.6. Distribution of Executable Versions.

You may distribute Covered Code in Executable form only if the requirements of Sections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 and 3.5 have been met for that Covered Code, and if You include a notice stating that the Source Code version of the Covered Code is available under the terms of this License, including a description of how and where You have fulfilled the obligations of Section 3.2. The notice must be conspicuously included in any notice in an Executable version, related documentation or collateral in which You describe recipients' rights relating to the Covered Code. […]

FastMM4.pas

Thsi source code is released under both the MPL 1.1 and the LGPL 2.1 licences, it's up to you to choose the licence you want to comply with. Just like the MPL 1.1, the LGPL 2.1 has some limitations:
6. As an exception to the Sections above, you may also combine or link a "work that uses the Library" with the Library to produce a work containing portions of the Library, and distribute that work under terms of your choice, provided that the terms permit modification of the work for the customer's own use and reverse engineering for debugging such modifications.

You must give prominent notice with each copy of the work that the Library is used in it and that the Library and its use are covered by this License. You must supply a copy of this License. If the work during execution displays copyright notices, you must include the copyright notice for the Library among them, as well as a reference directing the user to the copy of this License. […]

For an executable, the required form of the "work that uses the Library" must include any data and utility programs needed for reproducing the executable from it. However, as a special exception, the materials to be distributed need not include anything that is normally distributed (in either source or binary form) with the major components (compiler, kernel, and so on) of the operating system on which the executable runs, unless that component itself accompanies the executable.

It may happen that this requirement contradicts the license restrictions of other proprietary libraries that do not normally accompany the operating system. Such a contradiction means you cannot use both them and the Library together in an executable that you distribute.

I am positive that neither the binary you distributed nor the documentation/website contains the required notices. This is a very serious issue, you must respect other's people work.

i've asked for a feature for KC in the past and i know that it would require some work to do. i'd like to know what i would have to do to try to help reach that goal. i have no programming skills to speak of, but if doing some editing to the database to include all the Q's of various mat's (all of them) i'd be happy to give it a try. (with a little guidance on how to do it, to speed up the process i can offer voice chat via teamspeak 3 if english is a common language for us both {it's the only one i can speak that would be worth anything})

below is a picture of the area of evolver i believe would be the proper location for the feature i would like.

the area inside the black box would seam to be the proper location of a "maximum Q used" feature. i ask for this because it's a huge waste of Q270 mat's when your trying to craft good Q150 gear. (or lower Q's) often KC's evolver will choose mat's that can only be obtained at the highest Q's and there are no mat's of the same kind at a lower Q to substitute.

if anyone with programing knowledge would like to also tinker with this feature, i'm sure arcueid would be willing to offer the needed information.

(i'd also be willing to beta test this feature, running windows 7 if that matters)

Thank you for your concerns. Both libraries are not required to compile the program, as they offer extended debugging information and memory leak detection only. I have changed the source for now to work without them and I'm going to inspect the rest of the project to include missing notices where needed.

Talk, you can set your desired quality in there and it would only use mats up to that q.

EDIT: Nevermind, thought you were speaking of something else :-)

This feature is already added in the current beta. It isn't released yet, because most of the minQ values are missing in the database. Filling them in is a pain at the moment, I'm working on a new set of tools for more comfortable data management and anomaly detection. I'm also working on a system to add custom postcraft values and formulas. My goal is for the community to be able to change / update the information where needed, without programming knowledge.

I'll let you know, when I have something to test, right now it is still very experimental and needs more refinement. I don't have plans to release the source code of the whole project in the near future as I'm working on a cross-platform successor project, which will be open source. (And because the source of the almost 10 year old KC project is really nasty...)
