I'm just putting this out there...

I dont think it makes any sense that a marauder can join an aligned guild (Civ or Cult).

At first I assumed that these people had changed their fame when they joined and only retained the titles of marauders, but then i watched one enter the Mara camp without being attacked by guards, so their mara status/fames must still be intact, right?

Let me rephrase that as an idea...

I think there should be minimum fame requirements for aligned guilds, i.e. you cannot have -24 or less fame (anti-faction in pvp terms) and be in a guild with that alignment.

Virg suggested a possible justification for it -- they might be undercover, double agents, etc.

However, if that's allowed then I'd like my kami alt to be allowed in karavan guilds :D

lolx, kara can hire mara's for a short time, kami buy them by the year. lolx (just a joke, but is this really that big a deal?) besides that mara's answer to no one, so they can do as they please how they please if you want to use the RP angle to explain why they do what they do, it's simple: "they do what they do to piss people off" that's the mara way.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

they should remove any kami/kara/neutral with 'Marauder' pvp skirts.

yeah i'll agree with that. i do think those skirts should only be allowed to the players alligned faction, i.e., mara skirt - mara only, kami skirt - kami only, etc.
not really for any particular reason, it just seems daft to me that you can get either one.

It seems to me that the wearing of a particular piece of armor could be seen one to two ways (at least).

The first is pride of allegiance: "I wear this Kami skirt to show my pride in being a Kami follower."
The second is pride of conquest: "I wear this Kami skirt to show that I can beat up Kami followers." (This might be particularly true in the case of Marauders.)

And a neutral wouldn't care, as long as the piece was useful.

No need to be uncivil Bin. Mauro's are anti everything, hence it makes absolutely no sense at all that they would join a Kami/Kara organisation or be tolerated there.
Seems to me this is either an oversight or a bug (prolly just a bug). Of course you are entitled to your own opinion...

Besides, I thought one of the points of having Marauders was that we would have a more interesting balance of power; three major factions instead of two. If that were to happen it might be more interesting PvP wise, something a lot of players seem to be yearning for. Clearly that won't happen if the marauders are just jumbled in with other factions.
