An OP would be a cool option but with the sheer mass of aggro I would like in this region fighting for it might be a tad too difficult :) Also if a non-aggro area was cleared out in and around the OP.. can you imagine the aggro dragging and tears that followed? x)

i see one serious problem ahead as to how many will play these things. from what i read they're planning to impose no xp, no mat's, no dappers, no gains what so ever to play these new things, with nothing to gain, it's going to be something done once or twice and be forgotten, we need to gain something from these, something to take away with us, be it xp, mat's, unique items, because i'm sure the only part that wouldn't be disabled to take away with us is DP, and we don't need new lands that offer us nothing but dp.

but i'm still all for the progress, after all, i'm still spewing the stories that go with the upper branches idea(s), and will be until they are posted in full.

I am pretty sure with all the killing you would get decent xp talk. As for the mats I said there would be supreme mats, some even said racial supreme mats which has my full support. If racial supreme mats aren't enough then there are the new bosses and new nameds. On top of that if an NPC boss was added would add another great opportunity in which to enter this region :)

Tamarea's comment would seem to suggest that there will be a difference between "official" zones and, by implication, "unofficial" zones. Your average player-developer would not be allowed to make a "grind zone" with easily achievable xp and prizes. Someone with determination, a sense of game balance and a lot of work (Hi, Virg) could get their zone made official.

I would love to see hidden nooks and crannies and secret pathways to explore. The idea of abandoned ruins and a strong backstory tied in with the lore is really appealing to me. Some rite missions (or simply missions heavy on backstory and unique rewards like the sage missions) to introduce you to this new area and its history would be amazing as well.

Also, other than tons of aggro, it would be cool if the mobs had a rich and complex ecosystem going on there. Something like the Kitin Lair. It really feels alive in there. Kinchers herding herbivores, patrols, etc.

This place could be any of the following:

1) Old Lands (maybe accessible through Almati Wood): Old Lands have a lot of potential to discover ancient secrets and offer new insight into the Marauder organization.

2) Upper Branches: As per Talkirc's ideas. Could be accessible from Darkmoor, maybe. Maybe a hidden Trytonist conclave up there? ;)

3) Deep Roots: Never explored before. So many secrets down there. Definitely a huge focus on Kitins.

A place for roleplay? like kami kittens , kara bots, mara doggies fighting each others.. and rangers and trytonist have mission to stop the blood loss. Some penalty and points for each kill to all players available in the region (except neutrals maybe.. as they don't care of any of this bloodthrust :P)

And maybe add dye and choice/excl skin in the region. Fight for the extraordinary mats which makes shiny choice/excl/sup armor like the NPC one.. or somethign which shines! We do believe that all shiny things are Gold :D

Hello all,

While I agree with everyone's suggestions - I believe we should at the _very least_ get a new Prime Roots map that has/includes:

-- not a PvP map
-- choice/xl/sup materials
-- Q260 named bosses / Q270 golden bosses

Keep it simple since it may take too long for something too complex but that doesn't mean I want a map exactly as the others!!

Hmmm, Just thought of something. In roleplay terms, if you add a region, how are you going to explain how Atys suddenly has new property? You can't really 'add' to the planet. Otherwise Homins would have discovered it by now.
So maybe it will be a place 'Out in the Ocean?' You have to get to the portal via a boat! It can be a big Island or continent?
Or... maybe a deeper Prime Roots, or maybe a cave breaks open to a new land? (a little weird sounding...)
The other thought is maybe a polar region as suggested before that nobody wanted to explore. Idk, what are other peoples thoughts?

The lore actually states that we only know a part of Atys (the New Lands). It is just that we have no access to the rest of the planet. Certain people have access to certain unseeable parts though (e.g. Rangers ?). It is quite possible to imagine that a region is now "open" to every homin of the New Lands.

It can also be a part of the Old Lands, which were way bigger than the New Lands. In short, there's a world of possibilities.

Wilk Potskin said as much about the Old Lands. He spoke of traveling hundreds of km in his travels before he left on his long trip. We don't know how far he wandered most recently, but it must have been far indeed if it's taking him this long to get back.

Atys is always growing, always shifting. We don't notice it much in the New Lands, but in the Roots the tunnels that the Kitins dug had to be stabilized and killed. That's why the termites worked to collapse the mounds and tunnels. I suspect the Ranger pathways have to be patrolled and trimmed (or new paths found) to keep them clear. (The one training path near Zora moved shortly after it opened.)

I do not believe that Atys *has* poles in the usual sense. It is certainly not rotating with respect to the "stars", nor do the movements of the nebula or the other sky objects reflect any thing that would give Atys "poles." Of course we only know a portion of the surface approximately 20x30 km.
