A cautionary tale:

Arfur has only recently returned to the Bark after nearly two weeks of crashing out every time I logged him in. Other characters on the same account were OK.

I tried everything from low res graphics (on the log in screen) to deleting the client.cfg file. Crash every time. I was beginning to think I had lost Arfur for good.

I put in a ticket, of course. They were very helpful. It turns out I had exceeded the limit for the number of names in my Friends list (1024). Serves me right for being too friendly ;-)

Many thanks to Kemen for sorting this out.

limit on friends, now that's not the right way for an MMO (incase they forgot that first "M" means massive)

although if there are that many active players i'd be surprised, maybe with all Alt's too. but i could be wrong, i think that happened once before, lolx

I think I’m experiencing the same problem. My character with 1024 friends crashes the moment he loads in while my other characters are fine.

How did you go about fixing this?
