What do yu thing of this idea.
This is the best idea since yubodolls were invented.

Thanks Lac - good constructive response with no attack on any homins :)
This happened with the rescue-materials-stolen-by-mauro event on Sunday (heard one homin say it was the best event ever). All homins who took part were tagged and a level 50 homin survived in team very well (nice when just one enchant heal brings a homin back to full hp)
Is it not worth just trialing a happy hour each day, maybe just over a weekend - might not be long enough though to see how many homins look forward to it

Hopefully homins will keep attacking the idea and not the homins suggesting the idea ...

Wish we had input from ex-Aniro homins

And it is about Lore as well really, Mauro tend to go around tagged, not because they are blood thirsty gankers but because of Lore. Other homins tag up - go an attack them in their own city to get pvp points, then refuse to be tagged anywhere else. In some respect we should all be ready to be attacked by our enemies all the time

No, and no. Sandbox game, it's not about weakness or whatever trolling reasons you throw at people, it's about freedom of choice.

I put Other because the poll is silly.. but it means, No.

Gkr, it is sad to see you making the typical Ryzom response, simply because you disapprove of a suggestion and you resort suggesting person who made it is a troll. No wonder why this game is dying.

Having an option in the poll "I'm too weak" it is trolling... makes the subject not interested in PvP to feel "less".

Well maybe not trolling, but either way, if you get so many negative replies, i think there's something wrong with your post.. well... most definitely something wrong with your post :-)

While I would like to see more people getting involved in non-OP-tagged PvP, I don't think forcing it on the whole population of the server would be the best way to go about it. There is a majority of people who play this game who, for one reason or another, don't chose to engage in tagged PvP, forcing them to do it would certainly drive some away. People need to be shown that it can be, and is fun. Most toons only exposure to PvP is at OP battles, which aren't the best example of good behavior and a spirit of fun, there's almost always a lot of "trash talk" in region, not to mention the arguments that happen in the factioned chat channels before, during and after the fights. A lot of people don't want to subject themselves to that kind of drama.

If you want to have more people involved in the PvP aspect of the game (which I do), it has to be fun and constructive. OP battles teach you very little about the dynamics of the different weapons and skills we get in game but, tagging with friends in a more relaxed setting, where more explaination is possible is a lot more productive. It would be beneficial maybe if there were more open PvP zones to practice in, maybe an arena in or around each capitol city?

The 9 mektoubs event today was so much fun, a lot of people showed up and tagged and we all had a good time, no trash talk, no arguing, no gloating, just good fun. I hope the people in charge of this game saw that and will schedule similar events in the future. I'm voting other in the poll, because I think there's better ways the community here can get new players interested in PvP play than forcing it on them.

This kind of idea or similar came up in Aniro forums several times in several flavors, though mostly with the intention to intensify being tagged for roleplay purposes.

The concerns which such proposals have already been uttered: removing choices will be likely rather to drive players out than motivating them to do PvP.

Under my impression, PvP participation in Ryzom is not low. More than half of active players, if not more, take part in OP fights, and, as an estimate, well 20% of regular players are in other PvP activities, at least here and then.

Unfortunately, some activities are not known widely. For example, the french players had a long chain of player event activity (SOS theocracy) involving PvP not seldom, last major part the freeing of the marauder Ezek during his trial for assassination of Paolen in Zora (a well planned and carried out attack). A few weeks ago, there was the abduction of a Clan McFay member (Anonyma) by marauders, with a subsequent attack of Clan McFay and allies to free her. Unfortunately, cross language informations are bit too weak and slow, here, and have not been encouraged sufficiently yet. With some translator volunteers one could ease such communication, perhaps.

The idea of more arenas is good as well. I recall the proposal for a Fyros arena having been made on Leanon already and having been considered, would be time to make it happen if possible. An arena in the Lakes would not be bad, either, e.g. on an island close to Dew Drops Kami/Kara tp not to make it a pain to reach it. And then one in the jungle as well ;).

We had long discussions about PvP rewards, already, and this idea is being checked by the Devs. Hope they come to a conclusion, soon.

The thought that forced pvp for a week will attract more players than it will discourage is questionable at best.

In general i dont think the game as a whole (difficulty, pvp system) and especially at this point of time (server...) is very attractive to a larger pvp population.

What i did see working in games with a similar level of grind and , ehm, "polish", is pvp with a gambling aspect, stakes and/or dropping all items on death.
But it is again very uncertain that we would be able to pull this off (extra, special area where you loose all items, certain lack of items worth gambling for...).

first while I myself are to big of a slacker to like the idea an idea is still an idea and everyone is free to propose and get an honest discussion without trolling.

about banaone's idea it think it would be verry hard to make but another small idea would be that ppl that are die hard pvp and would love to see more ppl doing it write out a reward system like if you kill me you get 50k dapper or 100sap crystals and such put it somewhere on the forums if enough ppl would do it then it might be a fun expirement

Don't know why you are blaming the moderator (or at least partially) for your decision. I too got posts removed, and a polite message reminding me of the forum rules.

Anyway had already heard that you were considering leaving the game about a week before this.

If this was Eve-online the post I'm quoting would be removed for discussion of moderation.

Well you did not read the message that I received from the moderator ( I would not characterize it as polite), and perhaps you do not mind your posts being censored. I do. Unlike you, I am careful in selecting the words that I choose. Modifying my posts changes and distorts what I have written.

I do not approve nor appreciate having my my post modified. You may not care, I do. You may not care if someone falsely attributes statements to you. I do, and when some falsely claims I made a statement, I want my response left for all to to see.

And as far as my decision to leave the game, I have had post that consisted of simple screenshots removed and censored several weeks ago. That is one of the contributing factors in deciding to leave the game. The scrutinization and reactions to my post borders on the absurd. There is no consistency in the standards applied by the moderators. What one moderator will suggest to you is permissible another one will impose a ban. So removing myself is the most effective way to avoid the aggravation.
