so, off topic :
hehe...
I dig q200 with this permanent time bonus from the rite and all the extra time stanzas i have. No problem so far, I need to kill about 5 to 10% of my sources, I would say.
But well, I'll let you know how this evolves while I'm getting nearer 250 :)
Thanks for your answers !

Hello,
does that mean that high level diggers just use no extra time stanza at all in their prospection action ?

Mats Quantity = 0 ... still need moire time ?
Focus Gone ... whaddya do w/ extra time but stand there ?

So once you run outa either, you wanna be outta there. Several ways to do that

You can ignore "Heal Source Life" for example once you get to QL (but this has a downside). I work my dig so that time and source life end within a second or 2 of one another, preferable the former.

You can "Two-Step", using a lower Extraction level for the 1st part of your pull, this serves to drive time bar down faster,

There's more but don't wanna go off topic. If it was an optional thing, I think everyone would do it, it can be useful when ya digging 1.9 mats and only get 1 then. But when using Speed and Rate 6, no fun standing around with life or time left but nothing ya can do but stand there (aside from a kill stanza) until time runs out.

So that's why it's best avoided

At this point, I'm really curious what was the intended use for this stanza, if most of the masters would hate it ...

---

#57 Report | Quote[en]

Hopefully one day it will allow us to add a stanza at zero cost, instead of forcing it

This is a good compromise

We used to have self heal too ... and ya could get 50 levels in an hour kicking Yubos :)

When I started few folks did harvevesting, fewer did rites, and my guess is that it wasn't brought to bear until dev team was cut back and otherwise occupied.

If you're going to kill nodes, the extra time doesn't hurt.  It's only when you miss the kill that it's bad.

However, this rite has a little easter egg and it's a goody!  You can dig "pre-popped" nodes (like larvae or flowers) and you get your focus back at the end just as if you had prospected them.  :D

Because this rite is shunned by so many fast diggers, one thing is usually overlooked (or considered less relevant). Once you passed that rite, self-popping nodes will give back your focus like a prospected node. That is convenient in a number of situations, e.g. when digging larvae, pistils etc. Whether or not this tradeoff counts, depends on your digging and occupation techniques. Anyway, once acquired, this "reward" will be permanent.

For the Trial of Oflovak there is a step missing. After you do the Prerequisite missions you need to talk to the barman Lydix Deps and accept the mission. You will then be sent to the Water Breaker Chief.

Here's an update for the Fyros Story 2 (durability rite).

First off, the materials amounts are different from the list in the first post. This is probably due to the missions overhaul done during patch 3.5.0, aka JY 2603 patch. They now may more, but also ask for more items.

So anyway, here is the updated BOM (bill of materials):
  • 8 MA MQ (Rilonus) pants + 8 MA MQ (Rilonus) vests
  • 40 LA MQ (Hobenus) vests
  • 56 LA MQ (Hobenus) sleeves:
  • 1 MA MQ (Rilonus) vest + 1 MA MQ (Rilonus) pants
(here the amounts are the same as previously, but the timer has been lengthened from 1 minute to 16)

Miscellaneous:

After completing the 4 prerequisite missions, you start the rite by talking to the barman in Pyr, and only after you are sent to the Water Breakers chief.

The actual rite only starts at (mid?)night, as hinted by the last item in the text:

So, go to Northlake Farm, and wait until it's 12am. Then and only then will the NPC talk to you. You may have to enter/exit the Farm several times to trigger his dialogue, this is an old problem.

The other two NPCs that you visit will trigger easily.

Finally, here is a durability comparison on items made with fine generic materials. Top is prior to rite, bottom is after the rite:

hmmmm.... need to add the adopt a zig rite and the new swimming rite as well... that's really just a screen shot of where to go/who to talk to to start it (a picture of the little window that everyone should look for when all you have is the 'map' in your toons in screen hand.... from there it's fairly easy)

laoviel, wonderfully made with clear IG shots of the windows in question.

(please feel free to edit)

Adopt a Zig

Reward: possibility to purchase a Zig or more, for 70 Elyps each.
Total cost: 77 Elyps (7 for plushie, 70 for the Zig)
Time to complete: approximately one hour.

Go to Jungle, at the border of Void & Maiden Grove, at the Shadow Runners camp.
Target the stable boy, Mac'Roffy Shillan, and buy a plushy for 7 Elyps.
Use the Rywards to equip the plushy:
Open the Encyclopedia by clicking on Shift + E or E.
Click on:
Rywards
Supply Box
Teddies
Plushie Gubani: click on "Run".

Talk to O’Ronin Dalin.

Target the elements whose position is indicated on the map and start the ritual tasks.
When you click on: “I don't understand what to do” and then on the question mark showing the Encyclopedia. The text appears:

“You can remove from your character's hand any object present in your supply box thanks to the action icon (1).
Some objects allow you to perform one or more other actions (2), some of which will require you to target an element present on Atys.”
Click on all the items shown on your screen. After reading all, you will be rewarded with 10 Elyps.

On your lower right corner, several icons appear:
Rite - Feeding - Exercising - Washing - Draining - Remove

Your map will show for each of the 4 continents a location relevant to the rite:

Feeding:
Find a suvue on the Witherings map and target it.
When ready, click here to launch the ritual task.

Go to the Jungle, near Zora, above Still Waters, as indicated on the map.
Target the suvue, then on the icon "Feeding” on the lower right corner and the text appears:
“You take a suvue leaf and make your gubani plush eat. Sure, it's only a stuffed animal... but it seems to like it. Really! “
Click on “OK”.

In the encyclopedia, it shows “You have completed a ritual task”: ¼

Exercising:
Find the "Flame of honor” on the Burning Desert map and target it.
When ready, click here to launch the ritual task.

Go to the Desert, near Pyr, as indicated on the map.

Target the flame, then on the “Exercising” icon on the lower right corner and the text appears:
“You're at the starting point of the Zigs fitness trail.
This course has been designed to get your Zigs back into peak physical condition.
Go to the various points on the course, which will be displayed in the mission and on the map.”

Then a flag shows on the map and a target is added to the compass. Run to the location.

The 3rd target is back to the flame, where the text appears:
“What a pleasure to see you both frolicking in the hot desert sawdust.
Look how happy the guibani plush is, he's happy to have run into mommy's arms.”

In the encyclopedia, it shows “You have completed a ritual task”: 2/4

Washing:
Find a water effect on the Aeden Aqueous map and target it.
When ready, click here to launch the ritual task.

Go to the Lakes, near Fairheaven, as indicated on the map.
Click on the water, your target will indicate “Water Source”.

Click on the “Washing” icon on the lower right corner and the text appears:
“What a joy to take a dip with your lovely plushie.
Wait... the fluffy one there... it swells! Take it out the water quickly...”
Click on “Ok".

In the encyclopedia, it shows “You have completed a ritual task”: 3/4

Draining:
Find a nice draining place for your plushie on the Verdant Heights map and target it.
When ready, click here to launch the ritual task.

Go to the Forest, near Yrkanis, as indicated on the map.
Walk around the pile of fertilizer and keep clicking until you find a targetable location.
It can take a while to be successful. I first had it targeted, then it disappeared. And it took quite a while before I could target it again.
Perhaps you can only target during the night, or certain weather conditions?

Your target will indicate “Fertilizer”.
Click on the “Draining” icon on the lower right corner and the text appears:

“Well... we won't dwell on it...
However, the ecological gesture is appreciated, and then... the florists are happy too. All is right!"
Click on “Ok".

In the encyclopedia, it shows “You have completed a ritual task”: 4/4

Click on the last remaining step on the encyclopedia.
A mission (as well as a compass target and flag on your map) will be added to your journal:
Talk to O’Ronin Dalin.

Return to the Jungle, at the border of Void & Maiden Grove, at the Shadow Runners camp.
Target O’Ronin Dalin, and click on "Hello".
O’Ronin Dalin says:
“Oh Bravo!
I can see that you have done very well. You will undoubtedly be among the best parents for your future zig.
I am giving you access to adoption now!”
Click on “Ok".

Click on the last item on the encyclopedia. The following text appears:
"You obtain:
Unlock “Adopt a Zig” option from The Shadow Runners stable boy.
Click on "Close”.

A mission is added:
Talk to Mac’Roffy Shillian.

At the stable boy (a few steps further) you can buy a zig for 70 Elyps.
