IDEAS FOR RYZOM

i just had an idea, since this is x64 system, could it be a compatibility issue with the game? was it developed for x32 systems? if this is the case, then im sure it has to be fixed in other ways than just settings...im guessing a workaround script has got to be either compiled, or some settings normally hidden from the player would need to be forced so it doesnt do this any more...

what arguments can i try for a dual core x64 system to run the game and where should i put them? is it a shell script? im not afraid to edit those at all, i was doing that all the time in windows due to compatibility issues with Win7 and some games i played on that OS...i just need to be pointed in the right direction...since i dont know what ryzom was compiled with, or what arguments would be appropriate, does anyone have any ideas? im still fairly new to linux commands and scripts...especially on the newer kernels...

UPDATE: i found out exactly what the problem was...the sound...in the settings there is a slider that you can use to choose the number of tracks that the world plays at any given time, and i had to cut it down to 4...it was at some insane number like 150+...so maybe if i had a proprietary sound driver for this PC in linux format, then it would not shutter as much, now the problem is gone, but a better driver would certainly enable better handling of the sound without cutting it down to bare minimum...

the ticket i opened up is here for the devs so they can point people to it later if they need to:

in windows os it's limited to 32 max (for me at least, with a top of the line soundblaster card)

thanks for the info i will check in a few minutes when i log on to see what my linux settings are for sound, perhaps i only turned down the graphics and forgot to turn off the sound but usually i  just turn it OFF since it does seem to prevent certain crashes)

i dont suppose you have any idea how to fix some of the other linux problems? i will be making a forum post shortly linking to all the linux posts i can find i look forward to your reply in that thread
