-New Horizons takes 35 items every 24 hour (RL) period

New Horizons background:
-New horizons is the city-to-city transport feature within the same land, it is relatively new.
-Basically you give basic-occupation produce (finished products) to help the transport process
-NH takes flowers (food for meks) waters (water for meks) tools and maps (well, you get the idea)
-When the system is full of products the timer is 30 seconds to teleport (ride mek ) to other town
-If TalkIRC  aka ChatICQ has damaged the system it may take a few days longer :P
-if the system is full, it will say they wont take any more products even if you have not handed in
-In order to make them take more you have to use the system and thus make them need more products

Occupations background:
-Essentially you take occupations from certain master npcs, they require two missions 1/2 and 2/2
-You can take EXP or ITEMS while doing the occ, NH uses your ITEMS
-Florist occupation requires digging in the forest in low level zones (or high level, depending on your occ level)
-You can get 18 items maximum from one occupation practice
- You can practice each grade every day (18 from grade 1, 18 from garde 2, etc, every 20 hours)
- Hence you can get to GRADE TWO florist and get 18+18 flowers and use it for new horizons

NB: if you advance past grade 2 you will need to hand in more flowers for the same number of certificates, so if you want you can master florist on your main and use an alt for certs for NH, it will only take two days to get to grade 2 (18 exp today and 18 exp tomorrow is more than the 30 exp you need to get to grade 2)

TIP: easiest to dig flowers in fleeting garden at kami tp in autumn and i think, kara tp in winter
will add more "near tp" tips when i figure those out

Advantages of florist occ for NH: 
-You can dig a bag of flowers, turn them all in at one time and get a ton of certificates
-You can stand in one spot to do mission 2/2 (drop mission if asked to leave building)

Rite necessary: (yeah yeah people will say it's not "necessary" I disagree with them)
