Being here also since BETA I have found that having balance in a team works better that having strong Nukes and low Heals or vise versa.

Imagine yourself in a battle against Master players (and there are alot of us).  Some Melee guys have broken through your front lines and are hacking up your dedicated healers, who cant do sufficient damage without exposing your frontline to the rest of the Enemy Magicians comming in behind their Melee guys. U turn to Backheal your team but your wearing your Elemental 100's and need to change, but before you can equio them your getting hit by Bombs from the enemy backline and your team is almost down.  BYE BYE !!!

Dramatic i know but that is a general OP battle walkover and there are many Guilds able to do this in Game on all sides.

Having a balance allows you to very quickly turn and heal when needed and switch out at the drop of a hat to work whatever skill will keep your team alive.

Speak to some Master or even Crafters Just above your level required and see what they can do for what cost.  Most if not all Crafters are happy to help people, and very often leads to friendships being formed in game.

Common top level amps are 96/100 ele 100/100 heal, but the ele cast speed isnt great imo.

My personal best amp is 98/99 99/99 with 95 in both affliction cast speeds.

I recently discovered some evil kipee thing for crafting after getting back into the game. Tho fortunatley its progressive brute force approach is unable to come up with my recepie ^^.

Getting the mats is the biggest challenge.

Sup zun 97s are staple and good enough. Anything more is just for prestige more than anything else.

yes, for every day play any amp's above 84% average is perfect, and if your wanting "really good" you get 92% to 95%, anything over 95% is basically for show or very special use only, send me a /tell talkirc and i'll see if we can't help you to see the difference in the amps, i'm sure i can get a few players that craft/dig/hunt to chip in and help locate a few "test" amps to show you that 100% isn't really needed. (many master's use 84% amps everyday, the recipe is "cheep") (amps that are above 90% are "expensive" to craft)

but honestly, 84% amps will do everything you need, and most players will help anyone get a set of 84% amps to use, often not asking for anything in return other then to pass along the kindness to another player one day.

but when in doubt, give a cookie a shout, we'll help you to learn about anything you want to know about, and if there's not someone in cookies that knows (we have players that are from the beta days) we'll find someone via the cookies network that can help you if we can't.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

get some good 83-84's for grinding and if you want the perfect recipe just fiddle by yourself, forget KC that will only dull your brain and at the en of the day is like botting for crafters, pretty much a form of accepted cheating

some pointers:

- dont be afraid to use fine/choice materials for shaft and grip
- sup materials in grip and shaft only work in small amounts
- forget pure zun recipes and go for mixes using 4-5 magic focus materials, that will save you on mats in the long run and will allow you to make a greater number of amps for more ppl
