I am having difficulty with several windows in-game: help, support, transportation, forums and emails. I also cannot access the guild hall (its not in the new ones). Of the list, that last is the bothersome one, really, though the transportation could be nice too. I am accessing the forum from firefox.

I have not seen the client check for update, I do not know if that is normal. It might be related.

I use linux, Unbuntu 12.04 LTS with Unity. I run the client in the home directory. I suspect it might be the cause. Can anyone help with this?

It sounds to me as if the program is looking for the wrong url for app.ryzom.com

The url assignments are in client.cfg

WebIgMainDomain = "app.ryzom.com";
WebIgTrustedDomains = { "api.ryzom.com", "app.ryzom.com", "127.0.0.1" };

There has been recent discussion on another thread about similar problems.

those lines do not appear at all in the client.cfg file. Should I be adding them manually?

Lines not in the client.cfg are taken from the client_default.cfg. Have a look at those, too.
If those lines are missing in both, add them to the client.cfg. Normally you shouldn't edit the client_default.cfg because that file may be overwritten next time the client updates with a patch.

The lines were missing in both files. I added them to client.cfg, but it has not changed anything. I tested after rebooting, too.
