Good feedback, Daomei, Thanks!

Now, I agree with that assessment, Daomei. It sounds a bit like lifting the old Kitin patrols up to the surface of the root ball..

The new region idea generally opens up the discussion if it would come with a new race, or new fauna & flora, or "just" a new landscape. Even if it is just the latter, we actually could have a new region where Gkr's idea is being implemented: I could envision one region which has strong ties to the old lands, where tribes rein, and those tribes are mostly marauder aligned. Marauder tribes would not necessarily be friendly to all other marauders. So they could have an alignment that even changes over time (must be slowly enough, so that players have a chance to observe behavioural changes).

When we have a mixture of some new tribes with fixed national alignment, a few tribes with varying marauder alignment, and friendly & hostile interaction between those tribes, and also between those tribes and players, then we've effectively created a region for high-level characters that like to roleplay PvE and possibly roleplay (or non-roleplay) PvP.

One could consider this to be a region where there's constant OP-war-like battles between tribes and players could join those.

This would likely be an area where all characters get auto-flagged for PvP.

Just brainstorming here - I still believe this to be lots of development and balancing work. But once a new region is landscaped, this could be a next stop for new high level content that is open-ended. Again, I agree we shouldn't touch the existing regions.

I hope this is not meant sarcastically. I was dead serious that enhancing interaction of the wandering tribes is a good idea, as you could see in the widely positive reactions on that objective. And I hope the devs understand that and probably think about ways to achieve that goal.

But turning them agro on fame base would raise lots of complexities in my opinion. I hope my comment was not too negative, it was not meant that way.

Nope, I was serious, you made me understand the implications and I appreciate your feedback.

i like the idea for the new region with this all in mind, that's top notch, but let's stick with total sand box on the pvp flag in this region, unless it's totally loaded with all the various eco's sup surface mats, otherwise, it should be more like surface regions and be neutral, the agrro (aggo) tribes idea i like, and would find a thrill out of learning to avoid the roaming patrolls, but let's keep it so that larger groups are not as fast to respawn/not as common, but have common 2 and 3 man patrolls.

there could be new op's made, and the region could be for the mara's, it could be a place to introduce new mat's, new but un-used bosses already in the game's programing can be used in this region(ryzomnomnom.com) there's alot they could do if they can do it, maybe some investors in the game could push some money into it and get something done......

- 1 to this idea.

To the reasons stated by Daomei i add the fact that such change in roaming groups behaviour would heavily impact players with racial alignments. Because when one sign up for a citizenship, fame with some tribes changes automatically. Ancient Dryads is a good example, you can go from 0 to -100 with them in a second. Not only that would favour one playstyle (neutral) over another (race aligned), that would also lead to lots of fame grinding.

Presumably many players would like to avoid all the hassle associated with hostile roaming groups. The only way to get it is grinding fame. A lot. There is already enough grind of all sorts in game, at least to my taste. Grinding fame is neither fun, nor challenging, it's a monotonous work. Not to mention that tribal fame gains also can badly affect racial fame, so after you have grinded tribal fame, you gotta fix your spoiled racial fame. That's double work.

IIRC, i had like 10 or 15 tribes that KoS to me. That means months of dull work, only to make my digging, trekking and moving around a bit safer. I welcome anything that would make tribal fame useful, but in terms of rewards or new gameplay possibilities, not in the way of imposing an issue that can be solved only by grind.
