i'll be back, maybe sooner then they would like, things are getting better in real life and the net may soon return to my home, which means i'll soon return to ryzom. and so will ros, we both miss all of you and can't wait to be back.

Hi everyone! I'm new to Ryzom, just got the game this weekend and so far I'm pretty intrigued by what I see. I'm still in the starter area, just trying to take it slow and figure out the game. hiya xiadrii :)

cookies aren't a guild as such... we are in fact a group of players that belong to other guilds and/or factions.
the basic premise is to have fun without having to think about factions or racial divides.
i shall send you a mail with the details to join our chat channel and teamspeak server - though i warn you, the teamspeak can get pretty chaotic at times :P

Hi Xiadrii

Joining a guild is not the simple process it might sound; there are many factors that can influence your choice. When you get to the mainland, you will have the opportunities to choose whether to become aligned with a civilisation (Zorai, Fyros, Tryker or Matis - you don't have to choose the race of your character), a faction (Kami, Karavan, Marauder) or stay neutral in one or both cases. Guilds also have alignment and a player who is Zorai aligned cannot join a guild aligned with another race; similar with faction. You don't have to make those choices straight away but you should be aware of them when joining a guild in case it affects your options later.

Similarly, there are play style factors that can influence the choice of guild.The main example I'm thinking of here is PvP; some guilds choose not to, some actively encourage their members to do it, others lie somewhere in between. Your choice of whether you want to PvP can also influence the guild you choose.

Bottom line is, I would recommend your choice of guild is made in the same way you're approaching the game; take it slow and make an informed choice.

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

good fact's from a vet player, though cookies is a perfect place to learn and get to know ryzom, because we're the only "guild" that allows you total freedom in what you do in game. we hope to see you in the jar, and perhaps in a true guild later, after you've gotten to know the joy of ryzom, and the players that you will find on the bark.

well, all are welcome in cookies, it's very rare that someone doesn't find a way to "fit in" with the group. within the cookies group you will find kami, karavan, marauders, rangers, true neutrals, and other less known faction / groups / orginazitions.

cookies is a good place to ask questions and get honest serious answers. cookies has voice chat for those that are willing to join in, or even just listen to the cookies that do talk. ( we use teamspeak3, if you want to join us in voice chat and don't already have the software, simply click the link below and it will take you to the page where you download the teamspeak3 client software.)

teamspeak3 download page

you do not need to install the "overwolf" option durring the teamspeak install, as ryzom doesn't support it. once you install it ask in cookies chat for the server information.
