Hi!

i need four volunteer to finish a small application that helps with foreign language chat.

One volunteer for each client language that isn't english:
Deutsch, Français, Español and Русский.

The task at hand is making a list of sysinfo messages. Those are language specific.

It would be ideal if the volunteers know what a regular expression is (very easy ones!), but not being afraid to learn about it will do.

/tell me to learn details if you consider to volunteer.

casy, this is an awesome idea, i would love to interact more with other players from around the world that don't share my native language (english) and though i don't speak enough of any other language to be of any help for this project, i really like it. and perhaps you could also post something in the idea's forum as well, because i believe this would draw a following fast. the language barrier, i feel, is keeping everyone from playing together in the same ways as was common on the separate 3 servers pre merger. and even if it was just somthing that would say "rez please xxxxxxxxxx location" "thank you for your help" ect, that would be the first step to bring us all a little closer to eachother on the big tree.

Actually this is one of two translator projects. This one only helps you to read foreign language chat but there is no restriction on it's use (meaning it does not interact with the game client other than monitoring the chatlog file that is meant to be read by the user).

I will post additional info when the app is completed. Imo it is pointless to release it now because without the volunteer work i requested all but the english client would produce a VERY messy chat output.... Maybe even google will ban the app if it continously translates combat sysinfo for several players (that's what the volunteer work is about).

The final app will be easy to use (i.e. the only config options will be language and the path to your chatlog file).

By the way... anyone familiar with the process of using mono to compile .NET apps for linux?

Forgot to say: it would be good for these initial helper to be on windows!

Humn, didn't really followed the post, but reading it fast and.. Seems that no french that could translate wrote here....

Maybe you can send me ( if you want of course), more infos about it. ( Can use English-German-French.)

So now only russian left.
