Given that I just was online in the Forums for over two hours and did not get bumped, I'd like to know what your data point is, Talk. To stay logged in you have to be in a Forums section, not on the front page of the forums, but I just was hovering in a forum thread for the time indicated.

I haven't been forced logged out either in the last couple of days. Like bitty says need to be in forums.

this just started in the last 48 to 72 hours, i keep at least one thread open every day all day long, and sometimes 2 threads, and after a hour or more, when i go to view the thread (finish reading it) i click on "unread" and have to log back in. in fact it's this thread here that i left open this time, and after about 2 hours i clicked on refresh and was forced to log back in again. then i did it again, in case of a random error that did it, and after a hour or two i refreshed it again, to find two new posts, but had to log back in again to post this reply to those two posts.
maybe it's just my computer, but if that's the case, nothing's changed on my pc that should cause that. still all the same everything. (i'd still like to see a "remember me" option on the log-in page, so that i don't have to worry about it at all, let the cookie that controls the data be short time if they don't choose remember me, and a long time (up to 30 days) if they choose remember me, that's how most sites do it. (or just fix it again like last time, that was more like 20 or 24 hours before you had to relog.)

just wanting to get this issue looked into, but if you two are not having this issue, then it's perhaps something on my pc that's doing it, i just can't imagine what it could be.

Hello!

Talk, I think it's just you because I had a thread open to look at the missions (as we chatted in game) and a couple hours later I was still logged in. Not sure why it should affect you rather than me or Suboxide, but there you go. Another mystery.

What if i leave the forum open and more people in my house playing the game read my guild forum or secret e-mail message?

In mi opinion there a reason for there to be a limit in time, also this time is not very short so I see no problem. Also you can just save pasword and relog.. it a 5sec procedure, Talk.

Only my view :)

it's a 5 second process that will cost me 5 hours of work, no thank you.

IT'S BROKEN AGAIN, PLEASE FIX IT.

I'm not forcibly logged out of the forums. Like Bitty suggested, please check first that the countdown timer in the lower right corner (dark grey on grey) indeed counts seconds. If it does not, check javascript settings.

found the error, it was related to my browser changing a setting related to the cookie and that cookie was related to the timer, my cookie manager was deleting the cookie when the timer reached 0.

thanks everyone for the replies and sorry to bump this thread without need.

Glad you found the problem! And no need to apologize: Having the added info that a cookie is required for the counter to work is good to have.
