Back to the original topic - a Grandmaster Title for those who max out all skills. Rather than a Title I think it would be cool if it was added permanently to the name of the character. This would let you use titles as well
- e.g. Grandmaster Arfur
High Officer of Cara Via
or whatever.

Hopefully not too much coding involved.

The problem with a permanently displayed title would be that some might not want it to be displayed for roleplay or other reasons. Also it's hard to distinguish what justifies a permanently displayed name attribute: Mastership of all trees? Mastership of all craft trees? If it's less than mastership of all trees, we'd have an ambiguitiy/selection problem for those fullfilling multiple subtrees, and thus mutliple of these permanent titles.

I do like and support the notion of an additional name attribute. Mostly because its another great opportunity for roleplay. But I would have it coded as a separate, second title system.

Now this evolves into a completely separate idea: Why not have just one set of titles, like it is right now. But let's have two slots for displaying the existing titles: One before the name, and one in the current title slot after the name. So Arfur could have the "Grandmaster Arfur, High Officer of Cara Via". I could select "Fartravelled Irfidel, Cartographer Apprentice". And one can choose to leave any one, or both of the slots empty, not displaying a title at all.

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

i tried to think of good sounds titile and gave some serious thought to what i would like when i master dig in a few years (cause i'm not much of a digger, i'd just like to get jungle mastered)

I like genralized titles by leaving out specializations... reverting to early titles with an added "Master" like:

Master xyz Forager
then Master Forager

Master Offensive/Defensive Magician
then Master Magician

Master (Heavy or Medium or Light) Armor Crafter
then Master Armor Crafter
then Master Crafter

Master Slasher
then Master Heavy Melee Warrior (already too long imo)
then Master Melee Fighter (i think i got the last two wrong anyway, need to check ingame)

generally i like short titles.

short is powerful.

and... i don't like long titles that mess up the in scene display by shifting the character names far away from the actual toon.

Shows the proponents aren't thinking IC, thus not realizing a reference to Atys isn't necessarily needed. In OOC, Atys is just that nice place your toon lives in.

Then again, note we already have the title of Atys Citizen.

and Atys Guardian, which you get if you have Matis Guardian, Tryker Guardian, Fyros Guardian and Zorai Guardian. Using Atys in the title means you have masters / titles for all 4 regions/ civs.

we dont use earth champion but we do use World champion, and also atys just sounds cool :)
