I've heard the game forces you to start a subscription after 24 hours. In that case, its not really FREE!! My budget for an mmo is only $60 usd.

Completely false. Not truly free to play, but very generous free trial. Where did you hear about the 24 hour thing?

We are pleased to announce that from now on, players that create a new account can play Ryzom without time or place limits. Instead, free trial accounts are now limited to a maximum level of 125 in all different skills, enabling everyone to sample all aspects of Ryzom and to discover what makes this MMO unique. When you reach level 125 in a skill you can still continue playing, but you will gain no more experience points. The second limitation is storage: you cannot own any mektoub packers, use the inventory of your apartment or take any items from a guild hall.

Amber you have been misinformed. There are no time limits on free to play.

It is entirely possible to play for years for free. You may well find that this game deserves your support and go for a subscription after a little while, but you will be welcomed by other players either way.

it takes time to reach lvl125 (f2p lvl cap) in each skill, depending on how often you play that could be weeks, months, even years, i myself was f2p for about 1 year and change.
