Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

kool, 5k $ cash will get something done, WG gets $11 a month from me, and IF 10k of subbed players that's 110k a month, if 100k subbed players it's 1.1m a month, someone tell me how we still have bugs from 8 years ago when they're making so much (hypothetically).

The result of all this is that we all should think about where to post ideas. If it is a very general idea like the famous "support for jumping" then this is such a big project that it'll never be undertaken by Winchgate alone (with the current playerbase). But it may very well be interesting to the RyzomCore project and it may be achievable if split into the right smaller sub-projects and gets some additional sponsoring (GSoC, kickstarter, etc)

i love open source, because there are so many ppl working on it all the time, what you just said to me implies that the open source part of ryzom is little more then the ideas forum, by what you said the open source ppl really just perfect ideas to give WG, but does nothing to apply those ideas to the game its self.
