as with the post for guild halls, i would like to see the price be 1/4 of the apt, for 1/2 as much bulk added. (so 250k dappers would get you 1000 more bulk) but again i left that out of the first post, i wanted to keep it simple so that people might vote on it, saddly i would love to be able to disable the "other" option, it's a simple question, while i agree that price matters, WG will do as they please regardless of what we want, and like i said in the GH post, it's more likely they'll make ti cost more and give us less, after all they want the game more like real life then a game.

but thanks bitty for the thoughts, i always like to hear your side/thoughts becasue often you give me pause to think about something, and out of couriosity what kind of details would you like to see as options for this "upgrade"?

Details: Well you implicitly chose one of them; the increase bulk is a one-time purchase at a moderate price.

Other possibilities:

Make the extra bulk cost MORE than the original purchase. I.e. 1000 extra for 1M rather than 250K.

Make the extra bulk a rental rather than a purchase. I.e. it is an expense every (Atys month, Atys Cycle, Jena Year, IRL quarter). Pricing details then get even more sensitive.

Other details:

Should it belated to civilization fame at the location of the apartment? I.e. you can't buy extra space until your fame is <value> or space is cheaper if your fame exceeds <value>. Details of the <value>s in question would be important.

Just a few of many possibilities depending on whether or not the devs want to link the extra space to other behaviour modification actions.

i was thinking that it would be a limited upgrade, be unlinked to fame or anything else, however with each new upgrade the price doubles however the bulk amount stays the same at each upgrade lvl, then limit apt bulk to 10000 (making a apt have as much bulk as a new GH, making a nice long term dapper sink untill the max is reached)

for GH's (will post this there too) the max bulk would be 50,000 bulk, also like the apt's be unlinked to anything else, and also each "upgrade" will double in cost while the bulk yeild is the same. I believe that there's already lots of things linked to fame, i would like to see this as an open option to anyone, not just those with high fame in x civ or religion.

i don't want to see it linked to fame or anything else because it would be nice for any and everyone to have this option, providing they have the dappers to buy it being the ONLY thing that is required to do this (already having the apt or GH is a given)

as with the price vs bulk, i'm just making an observation, but with dappers much harder to come by for low and mid lvl toons in the new econ already makes getting the dappers to buy an apt / gh a challenge, and so the upgrades would be a discounted price to ensure they look good to everyone.

i'll take a breath and wait for a response again before going one more.

Great Idea - pricing should be around 50% cost of apartment for 20% more space and you could have as many upgrades as you like (one at a time though).

Er, actually this doesn't work if we can have more than one apartment - it would be cheaper to buy another one.

can't have more then one apartment with ONE toon, the idea here is to be able to store more bulk in your own toon's apartment, so that you can have your bulk in your personal apartment inventory's maximum limit increased to a set limit, my idea's price was 250,000 for first upgrade, 500,000 for second, 750,000 for third, and 1m forth and everytime there after, each upgrade giving 1000 more bulk to your personal toon's apartment.

limited it's a nice upgrade we can all work at, high or low lvl

unlimited and it's a dapper sink that everyone will like to use from time to time

to keep it fair for everyone to use and have, it's not linked to anything else in game beyond owning an apartment.

let's keep this simple so we can really have a chance to get this.

I dislike the idea of having a one-time cost for an ever-lasting upgrade. With NH taking 35 occupations products daily, even if you're selling at 5k apiece there's 175k you can farm daily. With an alt, you can farm 1 mil in 3 days. Crafters doing overseer missions get similarly ridiculous amounts of dappers, from what I hear.

Now, rental space is a nice idea. Personally I'd make it a separate business, and make it clear that if the homin doesn't keep paying his weekly/monthly rent, his space is going to be emptied asap (or his stuff placed on the resale market if mint, under an NPC name, to add insult to injury).

As others have noted, the rental prices could/should vary with your local fame. Maybe have some business open up in the higher level areas, and give the player a choice to either cough up the dapper for a nice town rent, or risk being eaten alive while they go to retrieve their stuff (rental there would be cheaper, obviously).

is a repeating upgrade that cost's each time you choose to use it, and if there's no limit to the maximum bulk you can have, you could spend OVER 50 million dappers to have somewhere in the 30,000 bulk in your apartment, everyone wants to rent the bulk upgrade, perhaps i'm not being clear, let me try this another way:

your apartment starts with 2000 bulk max
first upgrade cost's 250k and you will have 3000 max
2nd upgrade cost's 500k and you will have 4000 max
3rd upgrade cost's 750k and you will have 5000 max
4th upgrade cost's 1m and you would have 6000 max
5th upgrade cost's 1m and you would have 7000 max
6th upgrade cost's 1m and you would have 8000 max
ect.

perhaps those numbers would better explain what i'm trying to say, never anything about rent, also, everyone is making this far more complex then it needs to be, let's face it everyone, the dev's don't want to do "hard" work, they dont want to grind their job, so we have to keep it simple to ever have a hope of getting anything from them.

another thought to share:

what i'm asking for only requires a few things be done:

1) add a few lines of code to make the homin apt caretaker have a new option when you right click them, it would be "UPGRADE"
2) add the lines of code that would do prices (250k, 500K, 750K, 1M)
3) add the lines of code to give 1000 bulk at each upgrade

that's really it... wait 4) watch the dapper sink into a pit ALMOST everyone would like to use and have, i understand everyone has parts to add or edit, but your all getting away from the simple and making it far more complex then the dev's would likely care to deal with, i want to buy permante, compounding bulk upgrades, once you buy it, it's your forever, no rent (that would need timers and far more programming), no relation to fame (again far more programing), no relation to anything other then owning the apartment and having the dappers to buy the upgrades you want.

KEEP IT SIMPLE AND WE MIGHT GET IT. (which do you like, easy day at work, or hard day at work?)

how about slot upgrades as well (separated from or together with the bulk)?

I loved my material collection pre merge
I had one item of each choice or higher loot that I could get my hands on - somehow similar to collecting stamps ;-)
It wasn't really giving me bulk trouble but the slots where a very tight fit (and I hadn't even managed to get my hands on everything)

Btw. I voted "yes" exactly because there was no closer description on how it would be implemented (monthly rent, single payment, ...)

But maybe it would be wise to include a weight limit as well if this is implemented *imagines the floor bulging under the tons of material in some cases*

never considered the slots, but if they give us this upgrade, i'll start one for slots and then i'll work on getting that as well, because i've never had an issue with the slots i didn't think to include it, and i guess they would go hand and hand now that i think about it, but i went for bulk becasue i always run out of it, i've yet to use all my slots even once, even in my bag when doing a full day of mag cart 1 of 2 missions i couldn't use them all (no bulk for those so it only takes slots up)

i'll go at the slots if they give us the bulk, beasue once we can use more bulk it might be logical to assume someone will use all the slots up in no time collecting mats.
