So far I could practically always give 35 after 24 hrs, maybe you gave portions at different times, and that is the issue.

There is room for improvement in the cooldown routine. Similar to occupations, there should be a cd period not of exactly 24hrs, but something like 20-22hrs, allowing players to stay in the same time range. A strict 24hrs scheme, as it is seemingly, causes the deadline shift forward, until it is in the middle of the night or so.

To be honest I gave 35 in a row one after the other (after dappers deposited gave next until 35 of the 302 maps were given. I waited 3 days to start my test so no partional risk. Set a timer for 24.5 hours, which I didn't start until all 35 were given. So it's not exact for me as it is for you .

SOMEONE PLEASE SOLVE THE QUESTION OFFICIALLY.

there is nothing to solve : to be able to give products, the transport need to be used... you can see some kind of progress bar telling you how used the transports are. When the bar if full you can't give, and it seems that 18 items can repair around 10%

#24

Timna, that the transporter is full is a minor problem once you are able to deal with. A single teleport gives the possibility to hand in 3-4 products. for those above 45% fame it shouldn't be too complicated to jump here and then. Even for those below the margin tp is a loss of 3k against a gain of 3-4x3k or 5k dapper. But obviously most are either ignorant about that or prefer to leech the free lots and not contribute to hold the service open.

What is bit confusing is that the message for overfill of the transporters and reaching the personal limit per day is actually the same. Every time I receive the "we need no products" message I do one teleport then retry.

i've took 2 days off from helping them, i'll take a third and i'll use the system all day one day before i try to give, and will again post results, as for a bar that show's the need, that thing NEVER changes on my screen, it needs to be a number like "xx" %, because then color bar always looks the same, i can't tell a thing from that bar. but i'll test out the "needs to be used" theroy and see what happenes, my maps will keep pileing up if i can't give more then i get in one day, lolx

like i said before:
HOW ABOUT AN OFFICAL ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS?

VRADDEN,
please lay it out there, it won't take that long to answer the question and put to rest the debate on how many, how often, ect. (or let me win the atys lotto for say 200M dappers and i won't care either way about how many and how often)

(wonder how many time's i'll say the same thing before i finally get an answer)

TalkIRC --

Actually, you have been given the answer, you just won't like it much:
Vradden
Also, NH was not meant to replace the old system of getting nation points. It is an entirely independent and new feature. So bear with us while we are finetuning it. Expect some further developments (and better communication about it) in the coming months ! :-)

Note the phrases "finetuning it" and "further developments". That reads to me as if the system is going to change (a little? drastically?) in the next few months. Until it's finished, it would be counter-productive for the devs to tell us what the "real deal" is because it may not be the "real deal" two days from now.

For now, other threads (and experimentation) show that the system has to be used to generate demand for supplies. I know that I use the FH one a lot to get from FH to Avendale, and so do others. If people in Witherings aren't using it, perhaps it is because it isn't as needed there. More likely people are feeding the suppliers many more maps in Witherings than in other lands since they are so easy to accumulate in that realm.

Now watch Vradden post something immediately after I post this and prove me a liar.

--- Bittty (still not a CSR or anyone official)

Edit: You might also check out the original post in this thread which gave the parameters. Both need for product and number of product/homin are checked. I think it is clear that if need for product is less than how many they might accept from a given homin, they will only take what they need.

The color bar is telling about the usage of the system as opposed to the delivery of products.

In a sane system, it should be somewhere in the middle between full and empty. Actually, it is always on the top margin indicating that much fewer players are using the system for teleports than trying to get rewards from delivering products. Once the system is overflowed with products it will stop to accept them - confusingly with the same message as if an individual supplier had exceeded the 35 products per day limit.

A convenient workaround against overflow is just using the transport system (amazing, isn't it?), doing one or two teleports, then resume handing out products. That is always working for me and Diwu, and I am sure, to all of the rest as well.

I am using the intercity tp in lakes and fyros quite often, not only for freeing handout slots. Those who don't should not complain. Btw., when handing out products I often curse the leechers who steal my open slots without even thinking about teleporting themselves. But heck, I assume ignorance rather than malevolence as the reason.

Slightly off topic: "leeching" does sound a bit derogative. What's so bad about either only using the transport or only doing supplies? The system is open, so why do you want to ethically restrict it so that everyone is supposed to balance out usage and provision?

Ryzom was intended so that folks could either focus on crafting, or digging, or fighting, or exploring, etc. And if you want to do something you cannot by yourself, you find a team. The New Horizon transport system builds on that idea, imho. Some need the dapper or points and supply. Some need the transport. New Horizons appeals to different playstyles. I love that idea.

I'm not ashamed to be a user of the transport, without ever having provided materials. Everybody has the freedom to do as she pleases - within the rules of the society. There's never been a rule discussed before that one single player must pay materials to use the transport. So please do not imply that in your discussions.

#29

Clearly leeching is a derogatory term in this context, and it was meant exactly that way. I am not speaking about users of NH transports who simply use it as a transport medium, Those have only to care about the transport status when it is hitting the lower margins and threatens to degrade.

At the moment, the opposite is the case. NH transport status is constantly hitting the top margin rendering delivery of products impossible. The only way to clear stuffed transports for additional products is to do a teleport allowing few products to be handed in. In such a situation a bystander seeing another teleporting and using the opportunity is indeed leeching the few free space. If that is done seeing and knowing that one reaps the fruit of other deliverers it is an exploiting and abusive behaviour, If done unintentionally it is at least careless.

I like NH and frequently use it without any intention to hand in products. It is completely ok when that free space is used by somebody.

I also use the system to travel, and in every region I have enough fame to use it "free". Soon I will have 50 fame in all regions, so my use will go on and increase.

Bitty, as always you give me things to consider that I otherwise over looked . While you are not a CSR you help as much and often IMHO more, not to mention that you really play the game.

Tonight after work I'll put the new info to use and see what the results are. It will take me 3 or 4 days because I like to be sure of my personal results .

Thanks everyone that takes the time to read and post.

See you around the big tree.

NH Transporters should not take the items (when helping) until they recieve the OK from the web part of the software. I've already lost 3 items today without recieving a reward. I guess those are timeouts?

The item should be locked or hidden to prevent players from removing it while the request is done. When the request is successful and the favor and cash is granted, it can be removed. On a timeout, it should be given back (with some informative message... try again later at least)

i've had that problem as well, but i'm not going to complain about it, it's rare enough i look at it like a degrade, but i would like a better way to read the ware and tare on the system, and I STILL WANT OFFICAL ANSWERS PLEASE VARDDEN.

i understand the color bar is susposed to show the ware and tare, but becasue of location to the occ used in that region, it's not much changed by use due to "over-give" so it should be a % NUMBER LIKE 1-100 %. so that a person can see it's at 99% efficentcy. (thus only taking some or even NONE of your products)

as to using tp and then giving, testing.

it does happen if you give them too fast, watch your inventory screen to see your dappers deposit, once they deposit do it again, it will always give it then with maybe 1 in 30 (best guess because need more time before working numbers) fail rate. i look at that as a "crafting degrade", "an evaded/doged/parry", "an interuption/failure", "anger the kami", in other words it's not often enough to really call a bug yet, and is looking to be the rarest of those just listed, lolx.

During the Ranger event, New Horizons from forest will allow access to Almati Wood.

This access is only given to people who can not use npc providing it.

This access is, of course, completely OOC and it will be removed once the event ends.
