Hi all,
I just discovered this game on my search to find a MMO that was opensource with a client that would work on GNU/Linux without using an emulator.
Pleasantly surprised to have stumbled upon Ryzom I am now downloading the client.

Are there still people playing? In one of the reviews from years ago it said "lack of players"
how many players exactly are there? It looks great and I hope the game play will be awesome too.

You will be surprised! There are more people than before, all communities share the same server now with ryzom 2.0

thanks, already played a bit :). ran into technical difficulty with the rendering of the world. I'm sure I will find a solution in the dev wiki.

Depends on how many homins you want to see online daily. Last thing I read is that the active player base is in the thousands, and time zone differences considered, it isn't uncommon to find myself alone in an entire continent region sometimes.

Then again, the best thing is to check things out for yourself. More often than not, you'll have who to play with :)
