The new inter-city transport is apparently up and running in Lakelands and in Desert -- but it does not fulfill the promises that were made at least at the present time.

It isn't cheap, for one thing.  3K for intercity transport is a lot.  The vendor says that if you are well enough regarded the trip is free, however, with 48 fame for Tryker and 49 fame for Fyros, mine apparently are not high enough; I had to pay the three thousand dappers.

Of course we haven't had a formal announcement of the system yet, so it may be that the vendors haven't been issued their lists of Fame (updated daily) to check on their customers.

Just a warning.

Thanks for letting us know Bitty, totally missed this when I was online yesterday.

3k isn't too bad if you ask me, will save me 1-7k per trip to loria, depending on where I'm going. Regarding the "well enough regarded", I am thinking they might finally have made a proper use of 100 civ fame. Since they gave a reward for 100 cult fame (tp animation), it only seems fitting you get something similar with TP thingies at 100 civ.

Although, since I plan to stay hominist this time around, I'd much prefer they put free at 50 fame!

Since the avowed purpose of the system was to allow access to the capital for roleplay there while keeping local roleplay active in the language-designated areas, I would think that a requirement of anything close to 100, or even 50, would be counter-productive to the idea involving new people in roleplay.  The same if it is a requirement for "citizenship."  AFter all you can become a hominist with only +25 on all civs.

I guess we have to see whether this is a bug or if it is the desired behavior, and that will take an actual announcement by the devs.

And yes, with my Civ fame closely approaching 50 and my Faction fame soon to follow, I had hoped for something that gave a small reward to us neutrals.

If it's going to change or still needs to be implemented I'd suggest a decline of 50 dapper par fame "level" starting with fame 30 (where you're able to become a citizen)

At fame 50 (max for neutrals) you'd be able to save 1k dappers (2k left) and with fame 90 it'd really become free.

The dialogue suggests a two tier system.  Either 3K or free.  If it's going to serve its purpose of cheap transport it's got to be cheaper than the tps, especially the tp *to* FH (or other capital city) at some reasonable level of fame (such as 25 - 30), not the exalted levels above 50.

It certainly ought to be free for citizens.

In my opinion, your mileage may vary, void where taxed or prohibited by law.

In my opinion, the system has 2 purposes:

1. Give town transport to opposing faction, that normally cannot teleport to cities of other faction, except capitals. This is to help language communities that are settled to a town, regardless of the choosen faction.

2. Give a logical reward to citizenship, giving citizens of a nation free access.

Personally I agree with this behaviour choosen by the devs. Honestly, faction teleports are very cheap, and you can consider them almost free if you just carry around some very low lvl mission.

I have 50 tryker fame and I can confirm you the fee of 3k is still applied, so the reward is definitely not for the neutrals.

Only problem actually is that the system is bugged (surprise):

if you choose "yes" at first question, then you change your mind and choose "I want to stay here" to not to use the teleport, you still lose 3k. Dappers are taken after first choice and you don't get a refund if you no more travel.
*Obviously* chars should be charged only after the real trip choice was taken, and not in advance. Much simpler and you don't need to do any check to see if a refund is needed or not. Very simple analysis for any young programmer.

I am the event manager that created national transport system.

For the moment, only the fame is checked. Homins with more than 45 in national fame will not have to pay the 3k. Citizenship is not a requirement for free transport. Those rules are the same for each nation. However, we are planning to give players more control on these rules in the future. We are still working on some details and tests before enabling repair and control activities.

About being charged even when you said that you do not want to travel, it is a temporary solution to avoid an exploit with national transports. That is why we split dialogs in two steps :
1. do you want to travel ?
2. where do you want to go ?
We understand it is not an optimal solution. In the meantime, make sure you want to travel before your click.

Anyway, we are writing a more formal announcement for each community that should be published soon.

If you have issues with the national transport system, you can send me a mail (either IG or at vradden@ryzom.com) or report the problem using the ticket system.

Any constructive remark or comment will really help us !

Thx to clarify this.

Anyway I suppose the fame check is not working, because I have 50 tryker fame and i was charged all the time i tried the system.

I see the new system good for opposing faction players that wanna tp fast, paying a reasonable bill, while it's free for civ neutrals with high fame.
So the system is a bit mixed between faction nations and faction religions, due the fact nations have their own religious orientation, but not forcing people to follow it.

Only issue i can see, but very small, is that the system will encourage civ neutrality over citizenship. Other than that, the system only works inter-towns, so people still need faction teleports to come back from a far distance, so it's ok to me.

Do we have an explanation why homins now have a teleport system without the high powers?

Waiting for the bugs fixed :)

I used the word teleporter when I should not have. National transports might look like faction tps. But they are not.

Due to current technical limitations, we decided to enable national transports thanks to a guild of fast mektoubs breeders.
Since this solution has drawbacks, each nation is developing its own transport system, they have been introduced during the "To New Horizon" chief's speech at Fairhaven.

Thank you very much for taking time to come on forums and talk to the players Vradden. All to often these days developers overlook this.

Have yet to get enough time to log on and try it myself, but once I do I will make sure to post any quirks or bugs I can find about it.

Thanks for making it work, will make my option to go tryker(neutral)/kami much easier. All hail Vradden!

the dappers were quicker to make building this, we need something else to build now that will generate dappers based missions like this. maybe a higher payout with a longer timer, say 50000 every 2 hours, make the building process take 2 weeks or 250,000 packages, which ever is longer. who's game ?
