OK, once again there is extreme lack of information.  Is this the actual event to drive the Kitin out of Burning Desert, or is it some sort of introductory event? If it is the former, then I'm going take extraordinary measures to be online and contribute. As far as I am concerned, the Kitin are a Homin Problem not a Fyros Problem plus a Tryker Problem plus...

I had to miss the Exodus.  I don't want to miss the Cleansing of the Lands.

But -- there's no clear information in the Events(OOC), nor anywhere else that I can see.  I'm not going to rearrange my schedule for a quick run and a bunch of pontificating.  So how the bleep do I make up my mind?

Now, given that the event  is apparently only scheduled for an hour ( See this post ), it seems unlikely that it is a fighting event designed to kill all the Kitin and seal the mounds, unless kitin are going to magically be driven away after a single boss fight.

And the noted post also brings up the question, are there going to be other events at hourly intervals in Witherings and Majestic Gardens??

It seems that the event teams are doing a great job -- except in communication of the events to the people playing the game.

Edit:  Missed the fact that the Tryker event is on the 4th, not the third, so this might be a true driving out of the Kitin from Burning Desert.  Or it might not.  Who knows??

In the Calendar, there seem to be further dates, most likely for the same thing or a similar announcement, for the Witherings and Matia - which most likely means they take place on Monday and Tuesday.

The event lasted for two hours+, I have put an RP account of it here.

We will need to have similar numbers (about 40-50) to prevail in Lakes, Jungle and Forest. It was fun and very little in the way of bad dialogue.

An addendum to the above post.  Apparently the event I was at was the "international" event starting in Pyr.  There were simultaneous German (Dyron) and French (Thesos) events to destroy the kitin in those areas.  ((Bittty, of course, knows nothing but that Dyron and Thesos were liberated.))  The same pattern seems to be taking place for the Lakes liberation, with different leaders for the three areas as well as the different languages.  A descendant of Stil Wyler is leading the French language contingent from Avendale, while the Corsairs are leading the group from Fairhaven.  The German speakers will be assembling in Windermeer.

I wonder if this gives away which villages will be given to which language?

At the end of the Thesos fight, the NPC advised the assembled homins to remain there from now on, and stated that she would be in charge of this area. It makes me think that this is linked to the future language distribution of villages indeed, though no official announcement has yet confirmed this.

I have to admit, having posted three rp response posts for the rp posts for the events that no one else has taken up the banner and posted their rp impressions.  And here I thought I was a *low* level rp person.

Of the few English roleplayers, some didn't attend the events (I didn't because my character has no reason to, but others may simply have had scheduling issues), some probably feel there's nothing to add, and some might have characters who wouldn't write down their impressions.

Well, I just checked the French  version of the Event announcement and saw nothing post event, and only tiny bits pre-event.  Unless it went on another thread entirely (and lord knows I don't know enough French to tell) the "high role-play" French aren'd doing anything either.

I personnaly dont write the story of my character's'adventures ôn the forum, especially action stories. I'm not an experienced writter, never wrote an action story before, and it takes time that I'd rather spend ingame playing.
Some might think it's too bad not to share this with the rest of the players who didn't take part, and it's true, it means those stories that we played are destined to dissapear, except in the memory of those that played them. But i like roleplaying, i dont especially like to write, I'm not an author, I'm a player.
Avout this specific event, as pointed out by timna, our guild leader has alredy wrote something in his "diary of a legionary". (i didnt take part in the zorai and matis events since my char had no reason to be there).

Finally, i dont consider this kind of story telling posts as "RP" since they are ooc most of the time and have no existence on atys, except in the case of Diaries or other stuff that the character would have told/written himself). Which doesn't mean they are not interesting, as a way to let other players (rather than characters) know what is being played ingame.i personnaly enjoy reading those, but again, I'm not a writter and can't be bothered writting stories for the sake of others, i am content to selfishly play ingame. Only a fraction of the roleplayers actually write this kind of stories on forums, and i must admit not many in our guil do it.

Reen --

Did you have a look at my posts?  They most certainly were IC, both the ones that were put into the Event thread and the ones that I posted in my Lingering Thoughts journal. If that's not RP in and about Atys,  I don't know what is.  As for your ability as an author -- your posting was polished and stated your opinion clearly.  That (to me) is the mark of "an experienced writer."

Since I was speaking to the English forums, I did really mean additional postings in English.

It was good to see Luth's posting, recently brought to my attention (done after I had made my observation) but I was unable to connect your GL's posts to the event in Burning Desert, save by time.   Being unable to easily read French (and being appalled at what Google translate does to it) I am not able to search the French (or German) forums.

Now I *would* like to see post event informational posts OOC and done by the Event Managers so that we *don't* lose the history. As has been said: "Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it."  The Lore needs to be kept.

I would have written something in the German forums, but then I'm already fallen behind regarding my RP posts leading to the Exodus, so there really was no poínt yet. ^^;

I have read yours posts, and they are IC of course, that's why I mentioned the case of texts/speeches from the characters themselves, which is the case of your texts. As I stated, I enjoy the OOC narrative texts as well.
Even though I couldn't speak for the English speaking community, I felt that my own experience might give a possible explanation for the lack of texts on the forum (not to be assimilated with a lack of roleplayers ingame!). That was the only point I was trying to make. Of course, any story available on the forums is always enjoyable.

(thank you btw, but you really are overestimating my writting skills. It would be painfully long to write anything more or less worth reading, and again, I wouldn't especially enjoy it).
