4. Bosses/Named:
  • A Boss or Named "belongs" to the first person or group with a significant chance or success who pull the mob or its Guards/Minions. If another team tries to take over a Boss kill in any way (for exceptions see point b.) while the first group has already started the encounter and is still actively pursuing it, it is considered kill stealing and not tolerated.
  • A Boss is considered free if all players who were engaging the boss are dead (by the Boss' or Named's Guards, Minions, by Faction, Zone, OP PvP, etc ...)

It is allowable for a Boss or Named to be engaged by a single character (i.e. without that character having a team helping.) However, this will be handled with common sense, as it is clear that, for example, a character engaging a level 250 Boss has no chance of killing it solo. Whether or not the engagement is be considered possible is at the discretion of the CSR.

We desparately need a ruling about whether these Arispotle Server Guidelines now apply on Atys server, or whether there are new rules. A small bit of time invested by CSRs re-publishing the rules NOW will save them much time policing tickets over the coming days/weeks.

This rule also exist on Aniro, dunno for Leanon... but I guess it's the same. So common sens says it still applies

A new set of consolidated guidelines is being hammered out as we speak. In the mean time, let courtesy and common sense prevail :)

Both are in shorter supply than they ought to be, lately.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Yuritau

I'd agree as well.

For example, it's rude to walk up behind someone who is already digging a spot and spawn sources all round them.

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

Oh, Neela, that irritates me more than I can even express. Why does anyone pop 20 sources right over someone else? Is there a reason for it, or is it just being rude for the sake of being rude? Oh, oh, you really hit by button that time.... :)

#8 Report | Quote[en]

I'm not getting that one. what's rude about that? I have spammed sap slavrs atea to see what was there and where. Around diggers too. Not one complaint or remark. Anyway targetting your own node isn't that hard is it?
please explain what is rude here (not trolling, just curious)

Agree with Sliar.  If I come up into an area where someone is digging Raw Material Source, I want to see what's being dug.  If I have an idea of it, I may pop my nodes in order not to dig yours.

That being said, I usually ask what someone is digging before popping nodes in a general field.  If I get no response -- popping time.

Never having been in the situation myself so far I could think of a reason:

Diggers could compare popping your nodes right next to them to mob stealing. _Especially_ if you were previously unaware of a good digging location.

I'd accept it if you just pop a node to see what's there. But if you're actually starting to dig, it feels very much like killing my bandits. And we had a big discussion about that already.

On top of that, you never know who's the new homin. Is she a good digger or a bad one? My concern would be that if it's just a passersby wanting a quick pop, dig and dash, then maybe next time I look I'm dead from some green cloud nearby.

And finally, non pvp players could be especially anxious about it, because they may not want to being pulled into a conflict. (Not talking about digging in the PVP zones where we also already had a discussion about behaviour) Then again, role players might like a good diplomatic conflict - or not.

So even if diggers are not responding to some questions. At least wait until someone has finished to dig the currently popped nodes: While I'm digging I'm essentially unable to talk (as demo'ed yesterday during the quiz) and I'm definitely unable to do my usual fun interactions of waving or bowing - can't target something else than the node.

Just some thoughts...

You must have dug by Meagon in the past.

Glad it's not just me.

Can we also have some clarification over what languages are allowed/not allowed in each channel? For example, am I within my rights to ask people to speak english in the English Uni channel?

Yes, you may ask people to speak English there, and report them should they refuse. English uni should be English only, and German for the German uni etc. All languages are allowed in all other channels, including the original uni.
