I have 6 family members and we play Ryzom together or at least we did, but now we just discovered* that only four accounts can log in from the same IP address which means that we cannot ever play together. Who do I talk to about getting a refund on my two accounts that just resubscribed for 1 year each. This is not acceptable.

* We've been on vacation since the 2nd and tonight was the first time we've been home and tried to play together...nice homecoming.

Absolutely seconded as I'm part of Gorran's family. Yes, I have an alt and can just not use her when the whole family is here but there is no reason to even care about this game any more if we can't all play together.

Where is the official announcement of this change?

You can talk to CSRs to be excepted from this rule.

Nakari, there is no announcement on our forums because the devs/CSRs don't care about English players.

No, if there is no English announcement of this policy change, then it is fraudulent for Winch Gate to take such action against paying accounts and I'll just dispute the credit card charges for all the accounts in the house. I won't do business with such underhandedness.

File a complaint with IC3.  Not sure if you can since the terms of use are governed by French law but you never know.

Its going to be a pain in the ass either way, im pretty sure most people have a dynamic IP adress, so even when they have one IP whitelisted, when it changes they will have to get themselves whitelisted every time

Don't really need to whitelist the IP , they could just have it on set on account flagging , IE :-

Log for multi use = Yes / No

( above is just an example , not exactly how it's done :P )

But i do agree , failing to make announcements of things like this in advance is completely wrong . Any chances to the terms of use need to be announced to everyone well in advance of an actual change , especially when it involves paid subscriptions .

@Crailus: As far as I know there has been no announcement about this in *any* forum, not just the English ones.

No, I will be reporting this as fraud and bait and switch. Bait and switch is absolutely criminal activity where one thing is offered: No restrictions on how many accounts can log in from one IP but another is actually given: Four accounts only.

Stitch, thanks for the link. I am currently reporting this to Internet Crimes. For those who do not know, IC3 is run by the US FBI and Nation White Collar Crimes Center.

Thanks Sywindt, cooler heads (mine) have prevailed here and ticket submitted.

Gorran, please calm down a bit before posting.

I know communication is not the best, and often things change first, the announcement follows later, and even only after that a discussion about the change starts. It's all the wrong order.

In this case there has been a mentioning of this change in the forum. I searched it, but couldn't find it. It was realted to the discussion about the banning of someone who used multiple accounts to help his own (1-human-person) gameplay.

So while I totally agree to anybody who criticizes the way official communication is handled in this game, before exploding with rage I'd recommend first asking kindly in the forums. Secondly if it cannot be clarified by players already, follow it up with a ticket.

That one statement I cannot find also mentioned that this would restrict families or larger households, and that they do not intend this. So if any family or household has a problem with this the poster encouraged to file a ticket, so they can look into this and fix it. So there seems to be some kind of white list of accounts.

In my opinion this is an ok policy to have and there's absolutely no reason to make life harder for Winchgate and subsequently the people who actually run the game: dev(s), and the group of volunteers(!) who run all of our customer tickets, events and other ingame support issues.

Again, I can relate to complaints about the communication, but always remember that our volunteers are those who hear the complain - most likely not the ones you want to shout at.

Good luck with you ticket and hope you can all play together, soon!

Stitch, as such I cannot understand how you can recommend to file an IC3 complain _before_ even the support has been contacted. Just think about the fact that every official complaint has to be answered by WinchGate. If we as a user base make life too hard for Winchgate, the game will be shut down. I guess we all have to realize that they don't make much of a profit from this game!

I encourage justified(!) complains. But there should be an order in which things are done:
1. check with other players
2. file a ticket or talk to ingame support
3. if that doesn't resolve issues, contact outside help

Cheers!

I was part of that post and the response I got from Yumeroh was to log less a accounts so my wife could play. Great answer. I can post his Screen Shot of the snide way he answered my post if you would like to see it.
