Trekking in a large group of lower levels to Yrk from the Desert, my first trek, and one of the many kitins right outside the portal spotted us. "RUN" one person said, so i bolted, straight to the first camp i saw. *Rez Please*

Couldn't believe how lucky I was and start writing in the guild chat about my fortune, just to find out with the next glance onto the screen that I got killed by a cuddly cuttler.

Rez please? Oh well just let my lay there so I've got time to contemplate about extensive chatting.

Happened before the reset, when atrium power teleports where in use... I clicked on the teleport that said "DO NOT GO HERE, REALLY" .... "rez please"

Is there anyone who honestly DIDN'T click that one? :o)

I actually managed to hit another tp and escape before death but it was close.

OC I clicked on it and it turned out my mek was on follow! So both of us ported, both died horribly and my mek was full of cats! So had to empty bag and go on a suicidal rescue mission of the inventory and another stupid DP :P

Taken from an email to my son, extolling the virtues of Ryzom over 'that other game' ....

I found me a bunch of birds yesterday - "Fledgling" and "Newborn". "Pfffft, how bad could it be?" I think to myself. Waaaall .... I get over next to one, hit him with a ranged cold spell (resisted) he flies over I hit him with my acid spell (interrupted) then one of his buddies comes over as he's hitting me for 40+ pts a pop while I stand there with a stupid look on my face (like he needs help right?) So I haul out my weapon *Poof!* it's gone in a silver glow around me - "WTF??.....Oh ****" ...I awkwardly swing a fist, which he promptly laughs off and pecks another 40pts out of my ***. *I look around quick to see if anyone saw that* Then his OTHER buddy comes over as I'm clumsily equipping my sword again! "**** Me!" Now I'm losing around 120 pts every couple seconds! So I quick heal myself 200 Pts, haul back on my sword *Poof!* gone again!! "**** **** **** **** ****!!!!!" Trying to re-equip, heal is out for 2 mins ... birds are going ape-**** .... yet ANOTHER ****ing bird comes in?!?!! I get 1 good swing in ... and die. "Um ... this is the newb area...yes?"

Good times. They paid for it tho, eventually... I got quite a few crafting levels from stuffing, shafts, and leather :p

On the 'bright' side, at least you were losing the mek anyway. :(

Not my death, but I managed to get my Mek dead just because I wasn't paying attention. I'm out digging, lots of gas still puthering from various dig sites. I forgot my Mek was on follow and it wandered into a cloud of gas. My back was turned. First thing I know was a groan then thud as the Mek hit the ground.

My embarrassment at this is only tempered by the hope that by making this stupidity public, less people will be caught out in this way.
