Hello everyone.

I played Ryzom yeeeeears ago and am considering joining again, for Ryzom is still my best online memory.

Before I do, what is the balance of population between races these days? And how intense is the social/guild activity for each race, or for the race you are personally playing? I am looking to join a lively relaxed adult guild; is there any you would recommend?

Many thanks and see you in the game soon maybe!!!

Nico

Why does it matter? :)
Race is purely an aesthetic choice. It does not affect what skills you can train, or any other game mechanic except for base magical resistances (which are a trivial issue). There is only one starting island now, and you can leave it for any capital city, not just your race's own capital city. Of course, you can also travel wherever you want, if you either learn to sneak or ask another player to "trek" you.

since the 3 server has merged to 1 server its hard to tell what the population is .. all i can say is ...its very busy on atys since the merge...there are loads of guilds out there some german ones ..some french ones .. some international ones ... in the end everything is very busy and i think every city and race is very busy as well...just check out the new atys...

Thanks guys!
I remember that there was some off-balance between populations at the time I played (of course, I might be remembering wrong!), and the breadth of experience seemed to differ quite a bit between communities/capitals. Just wanted to check what the situation is today in this respect. From what you are saying, it sounds like all races/cities are similarly active, which is great news.

Hi Nico
Ryzom is free to play but you will stop gaining experience (and therefore levels) at levels 125.
Subscribers to the game also recieve 2X the XP of f2p players, have a look through the announcements Here for more information

Hey Nico

Why not try it? Take an F2P character for a while and see how you like it. Then Subscribe when you feel happy to. You have nothing to lose (except your spare time) and lots of friends to make.

You'll probably have a blast. The game at the moment, so soon after the Server Merge, is at a stage best described as 'Interesting Times' so there's lots of strange (and dangerous) stuff going on.

Looking forward to seeing you in-game.
