Homins have repossessed the cities. And yet, Kitins are still roaming throughout the New Lands and laying siege to the capitals, even though their attacks seem to have lost some of their intensity. The defensive lines that were built by the Higher Powers still cast a spooky light on the landscapes, but are slowly crumbling.
Whatever one may think of the Kamis, or the Karavan, they have both helped Hominkind to survive the Second Swarm.

The bulletins that may be be found at all important Kami and Karavan altars will undoubtly interest many homins. Although they differ in style and details, they all contain the same message:

The Higher Powers call on their followers to meet at the main teleporters of their capitals on 7h - Quinteth, Nivia 5, 1st AC 2570 *.

I hope that some enterprising young reporter for the Eye of the Tyrancha will attend this event so that those of us who are unable to make it can find out what the *bleep* happened.

One of the failures of the "Event" model of introducing changes to Ryzom is that the event writers never give us the results and only infrequently do the players do so. (There were some reports from the last meeting in Almati Wood, but that was a significant exception.)

How are low and medium RP characters (like Bittty) supposed to react appropriately if the information is not given?

The thread was hijacked into a discussion of GMT offsets and timezones, and Xatokar said that OOC comments should come here. Of course, my comment wasn't entirely OOC, but I've brought the matter here. I know that I am not alone in being unable to attend this event (it is workday all over the USA). Will someone (preferably someone official) please give a report on it? IC is fine, but a posting in OOC terms in this thread would be nice, too.

I envision something on the order of:

"Boebus Xanthus, Laurel Morelli, Ting'Tzao, and Baxy M'Kealy have received shipments of a special resin to seal the kitin mounds. If a mound can be cleared, they can put the resin into the hole. The resin must then be cured by fire until it sets. They stand ready to assist any team of homins who gather to rid the lands of the kitin encursion."

translates in the OOC forum to:

"To kill a kitin mound make sure one of the Event team persons is on-line, kill all the kitins around a mound, then call for the event team person to show you how to kill the mound with a bit of role-play."

I don't know if any of the other capitals did, but FH didn't mention kitins at all. Not just that we didn't even know that the event was done there was no real conclusion to the event so we all just sat there waiting for more information.

I think it would help to state in the announcements what kind of event it will be. Basically it was the RP-version of telling us that the NPCs for Kami Karavan rites are back. That's all and that's pretty much what happenend ingame.
But I guess people were waiting for more, so it would help to write into the announcement that it's just respawning of NPCs with some RP around it. This way people don't get disappointed.

Bittty, someone (non official) used to update the Ryzom wiki with detailed descriptions of what happened in the events. She stopped a while ago, but the older ones are still there:

If it's too much work for the event team, maybe some homins would be willing to pick that up again. Or something similar. All it takes is a group of players who usually attend events to post a short one paragraph summary of what happened there. Some sort of unofficial atysian reportage team. I

Some time ago it was decided to do 'content hints' in the event annoucements (like stated in here: http://app.ryzom.com/app_forum/index.php?page=topic/view/8466/2), they used it for some time but then all off a sudden stopped with doing events on aristople. Untill the reset but seems they forgot about these hints.
It was nice having these hints so we could plan acordingly for instance americans didn't have to loose sleep/work when they read it was just a short story.
also for ppl atending the events it was nice to have a small hint so we knew in what gear to go and if t said 'story' atleast we had less ppl there demending to go kill stuff ...
