As a lawyer i woud like to know OFFiCiALLY what is going on, not as mere rumours or newsposts? What is meant by some game masters posting about a new "interpretation" of the rules? They have not changed, have they? Their interpretation cannot change either, if they have not changed. Where can I find these rules, whose "interpretation" from the other partys side has so suddenly "changed"?

Winch Gaste has my address, haven't you? From which day are these changes of the rules going to take place? When is Winch Gate going to refund us that eventually choose to cancel our contracts because those rumoured changes? On which day is the change going to be in efffect?

Would i please get an answer from Winch Gate?

I hate to notice that the information of changing of an essential parts of the contract is not properly announced but left hanging as rumours. Please, make important changes known officially.

I would like to point out that the quoted section of the EULA etc only come into effect AFTER any applicable laws from the country of residence of the player .

In fact , ANY games EULA only comes into effect after any local laws are applied , so if the EULA contravenes a persons country of residence laws , the EULA doesn't apply .

Saying this before anyone jumps in with the usual " you accepted the EULA suck it up " responses i see quite often over things like this .

With regard the changes , i would guess you mean the multi account usage thing ? .

If so then yes, they need to make a clear and concise announcement regarding ANY addition to the EULA , especially as there is nothing in there that forbids the use of multi accounts managed by hand ( not talking about botting as that is covered ) .
To turn round and say " no , your not allowed to use more than 2 accounts manually " without giving prior notification of a rule change is wrong.

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

As I stated in the other thread it's actually not allowed by the EULA (see Link in Kamathias post) to own more than one account:

3. REGISTERING AND OPENING AN ACCOUNT IN RYZOM
This Contract allows you to use the procedure offered for registering your details to set up one (1) account enabling you to play Ryzom and/or Ryzom Ring over the Internet. The Internet connection is not provided by Winch Gate Property Limited, and the User is solely responsible for payment of all charges enabling him/her to obtain, maintain and use the connection. Registration requires you to send information to Winch Gate Property Limited, including information on your identity and the means of payment used. You guarantee that all the information you provide in the course of the registration procedure is true, and you undertake to inform Winch Gate Property Limited of any change in this information, by using the update facility provided as part of your account.

This paragraph has be invalidated though because WG tolerated the usage in some cases and asked people to own 2 accounts for a character transfers in the past. (they wouldn't transfer a character to an account owned by another person)

This paragraph has never been changed (except for the company name) since 2004.

Sorry , but all that paragraph means is that every time you register , you are creating a contract ( as such ) for 1 account .
Nowhere in it , does it state, that a user is only limited to setting up 1 contract ( account ) only .

In a small town rule enforcement is usually a bit lax, unless there are complaints. In a congested city rules are usually enforced more diligently to avoid riots.

The rules have not changed. It is just that the discretionary enforcement of the rules has tightened up due to the denser multinational population.

And the CSR's who do the enforcement are unpaid volunteers, and few in number. We are very fortunate to have the ones we have. How many players would want their job? Obviously very few.
