Anyone else having problems with fame?

My fame says my Civ fame is Neutral but when I go to speak to the magistrate he only gives me the option to renounce!

I guess that's just cos of the poor job done with the server move eh?

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

All fame after the merge was reduced to zero. If you don't have enough civ fame to become a citizen then that option will not be there, There is always the option to curse the civilization ( renounce your citizenship) in order to get negative fame with that civ, which is what those who wish to be marauders do.

You didn't state how much fame you had with the civilization.

No I've been playing this game for 8 years and that wasn't clear to me so I think it might not be clear to a new player as well. You can't renounce citenzenship if you're not a citizen! That's just silly; they should call it something else.

So what's the min fame required to go for citizenship?

30fame needed to become citizin (but the guild you are in must first be aligned with that city aswell)

* about renounce at any time they did add a small story when you click renounce while not alligned where the guy gets mad on you and because of that removes fame
Get's old after clicking it hunderds of times if you are going for marauder but probably best they could come up with when implementing it, you can now kill citiy guards (haven't tried temple guards) to remove fame witch is much more understandable since you are commiting crimes against the civilisation so maybe it's time now to remove that old renouce trick and let ppl that wanna become marauder just kill guards and npc's (maybe increase negative fame from these a bit since I lvled 2lvls of spear on the FH guards some time ago and only went from -40 to -78 or something)

By the way, about fame : if your character was existing before the merge, all fame are reset, and the fames with tribes show 0 everywhere, but it doesn't mean it's really 0. You have to make a mission (or kill a guard of the tribe) to refresh the fame.
Initially, when you never met a tribe, you couldn't see your fame with it (still the case for real new characters). This is a kind of bug with "false" new characters

Not exactly, In the 2.0 client, all characters can now see always all tribe fames, even if the fame is 0/uninitialized. This is intentional and has as I understand it to do with a difficult to catch bug that for some players a tribe's fame is not shown even though it is not 0.
