I really don't know what's gotten into you folks at WG, but I'd like to remind you that this is game and should be treated like that, it should be fun and enjoyable.
Instead this already feels like forced slave labor with all the changes to crafting, as in more failures and more degrades.
I realise that changes were necessary, but I wasn't expecting this result, and in my opinion you went by far overboard. It would be nice if you try and balance it a little more reasonable, instead of going from one extreme to the other.

The NPCs are not interested in your goods, especially not your grind trash, as such they don't offer too much money for them. Dappers don't appear en masse from thin air. Improving is an investment. You can profit by crafting useful goods and selling them to other players. Other players are very likely also interested in purchasing your materials at the more conventional market prices.

On the matter of expensive TPs, transportation is and should be expensive. Solo tp-dig-tp-tp-dig-tp is a joke, and I don't see what's so fun about that. If you want to exclusively harvest, get players in your guild to form a mektoub caravaan to travel the materials to your guild hall, way more challenging and fun. This gives a purpose to your actions. Capturing outposts now also gives you the economical advantage of reduced cost in getting your harvested materials to your guild hall.

Dappers should not enter the economy any faster than they leave. You should not get more dappers from NPCs than you need to pay them.

Might be true but seems atm the game does force ppl to harvest and dig, did a quick test and got 23dappers for a q200+ mob mat.

In the past ppl where free to build their char as they wanted and if you wanted to go pure pve you where allowed to do, you would not become rich from it but you got enough dapper to get around. Now it seems this build has been made quite impossible. Even buying a mount to get to your hunting ground will cost you 7k, around 300mats. Running to every spot is hard aswell forces you to play long times at once.

In the past it was possible to go nip on play half an hour or an hour and log back of now it seems impossible since everytime you wanna do something you need a trek, I find this quite sad for casual players. (might be good to get f2p players to sign up and lvl higher so they can solo trek themself to places)

Seems all I can do from now on is sit at stables waiting on my subs to run out since I'm not planning to go grind some more lvls and having to lend money from friends, lets hope they don't introduce stable sitting taxes soon or 10k dapper to enter the city.
(yeah there are missions but after doing em 3times in a row they are boring aswell)

While all other mmo's try to cater more to the casual players ryzom does the oposite but making the game totally unplayable for casual players isn't the way to go and I consider myself casual, I might be online 5h+ a day but I'm hunting 1h+ from that time (the rest of the time i'm working with ryzom chat in background)

Your fault for selling to the lowest bidder instead of to the highest bidder.

Kaetemi, I hate being a trader. I want to log on, have fun with my friends, help people, then log off.
This is utterly impossible in the new system, and I don't quite see the fun in having to spend one days worth of playtime to trekk to a place so i can hunt there the next day, then spend the third day trekking back.

Not everyone has 5 hours a day to play ryzom.

I don't. They're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are COLONIZED by wankers. Can't even find a decent culture to be colonized BY. We're ruled by effete arseholes. It's a shite state of affairs to be in, Marceline, and ALL the fresh air in the world won't make any ****** difference"

Kaetemi,

You are so funny I laughed out loud!

"Sell to the highest bidder"

?

The "Highest Bidder" doesn't have any money either!

The bidders have to have money, before they can bid money!

So WG GUTTED the way we make money in game, ok that's their decision, it sucks, but it's their game. HOWEVER, they left the rest of the costs the same?

Other than a few close teleports, and a mount, your other expenses all stayed the same or got worse! 25k now for a crafting tool?!

If you're going to gut our income, then reset ALL of the costs and fees ingame. It's still 1 million dappers for an apartment, 10 million for a guild hall, and half a million for a good packer??

WTF?

#7 Report | Quote[en]

I love that the dapper is actually worth something now, but I think they might have cut the prices too low. I went through all stacks of generic materials yesterday (from level 30-ish to LA 130/110/110/110/110) and earned about 40k including tool-expenses.

Did they really change crafting? I didn't notice anything different.

Gasket: You don't have to be trader, I'm quite sure there'll be enough traders in the future that will want to do the trading for you. Trading is fun.

Montor: Teleports are luxury.

If the costs lowered as well... there would literally be no point at all in lowering the magically appearing dappers into the economy as well, now would there?

tried doing some tasks for NPCs? they are giving good dapper for it. of course dapper isn't raining from above as it was before merge. that is the challenge. we are poor now, but we'll get wealthier after we learn how to manage the new situation.

I strongly disagree that teleports are a luxury (in terms of game utility -- they most definitely are a luxury item atm). Not being able to afford tps means that I can't go rescue homins who are in need, that I can't conveniently harvest in such a way as to level my craft, and basically mean that I cannot play the game the way that I wish to play it.

The game is good, but right now the prices for mats are ridiculous. For a level 250 mat I get 35 dapper in Dyron, but the same vendor will charge another homin a *minimum* of 250 dapper!!! I can't set it any lower, even if I want to, and I want to so that some poor schmuck can afford to buy the dappers I dig. How is he going to afford it if all he can sell looted mats for is the same low dapper?? The devs said they wanted to make the dapper more valuable. It isn't -- it's even more worthless than before because no one has any.

Someone said that we should buy meks and make treks to get lots of mats. Sorry, I can put a maximum of about 450 mats on a mek if I'm going to feed it, too. I get to buy three meks for 1.5M dapper. Even at 10K dapper per tp, thats 150 tps! As a newb I'm not going to be able to earn enough while digging or hunting (at 1-3dapper per q50 mat) to buy any tps, or a mek, or feed my mount -- not if I want to buy a new pick.

The current situation is a drastic over-correction. It makes the game difficult for multi-masters and impossible for newbs. It needs to be adjusted and soon. It is similar to the case with wear when it was first introduced. Too much.

As for NPC tasks -- I didn't join this game to do FedEx missions. I can do them in WoW. (Yeah, I played the WoW card, so sue me.)

I would like to say that many valid points were raised here by many homins. As someone who actually does enjoy trading (to an extent, not to just do it all day) I can see where this might go later but I must agree that it is , at least to me, an overcorrection.

I am now, even at low level, legitimately wondering if I can buy back my pick after it explodes (it looks like it explodes faster now, maybe I am imaging it, I can't say for sure)

Yes we can do missions from npcs that give some dappers (great, those missions were worthless before for dappers anyway)

I like that this means we dont loot everything we see and run back to town to sell - if you pick up loot now it just wastes space unless you plan to craft it, and if you craft it, it is to wear or basically give away as no one has dappers to buy anything with (lets be honest, lower level or perhaps more laid back players especially)

I am not really working hard on getting dappers at the moment I expect an adjustment to be made and i;ll probably feel annoyed at selling anything now to find out later i could get more, I am conservatively waiting a little before jumping in, many new changes have to be adjusted at least somewhat

I urge the common -but not unimportant by any measure- homin not to worry much. At the moment I gift most of what I make, when someone asks me how much i want for it i reply like this: well, my craft too has only gone down by 1% that's not a big deal, keep it and lets see how it all turns out

I happen to like digging but digging for the sake of it is mostly sad now, might as well drop the mats or craft it in-situ and drop it and keep going, yes some of us dont want to fight alot or do alot of missions or faction runs... but what choice is there now, have to broaden horizons. It's a nice idea, in many ways, but overshot, i honestly feel.

Also I don't like not being able to TP to res someone, suck up the dp? because but hey, double exp if you are subbed right, why not... aha- pay to win now? I honestly do not know. So far the filled servers of lovely german and french folks have saved my friends before I arrived, I really like that too. In the early days while we are adjusting, let's perhaps agree to grudgingly agree and tide it out

For the casual player it might not be readily apparent how scarce dappers are right now, they might waste them very badly, please advise your friends who are newbies to be careful and not to worry quite yet the community is still full of helpful players who will spot you a TP gift even if it hurts them a little more than a little

If we can have a way to get some dappers from the npcs besides those strange missions, even if it is a smaller amount, it could be good, but i understand its hard to make a bold change and balance everything, I wish the developers the best in figuring out the balance (if they leave it like this, well, i dont know what ill do lol)

Ryzom is a sandbox game with some missions you can do when you are bored now with these prizes ppl like me are forced in doing these missions over and over to make a bit of dapper so I can go rez a friend when needed to
I can say after 2 days I'm bored of doing em already, atleast in guildwars2 these missions are intresting but comon killing the same bandits over and over having to wait 5min on respawn while 5 others ppl are camping them at the same time is just sad (not for those ppl but whoever made this system and forces us all off a sudden to use it)

My playstyle might be a bit extreme 4h a day slacking of at the stables having fun doing some light roleplaying and then +-1h (+-30min) killing some mobs somewhere make 50k dapper or kill a boss and I can go back rezing ppl and goofing of (now I'm forced to do missions the whole time and atleast in guildwars2 and wow and so much other games the missions are intresting but here they are just a repetitive tasks)

yes your ideas sound wonderfull kaetemi if you have 12h a day to grind and do treks but for much of us it's not a perfect world and everyone has a different playstyle (and honestly not sure if i'll resub Subox account next month (was my alt and would become new main but not at these prices) and might just countdown 3 more months to unsub Suboxide's account aswell. I can perfectly goof of at the stables with an f2p and do nothing else since that's what you force me to do now anyway. (light rping and chatting at the stables on a p2p or f2p seems exactly the same except on p2p i feel guilty when i can't go rez a friend in need on an f2p i'll be able to say sorry but i can't get there)

i see it as a challenge. i'm sure, we will learn how to earn good dappers. and i'm sure it will be ballanced even more. it's better to cut things even more and balance them afterwards, than cut them a littlebit and in short time we have economy that sucks just like before server merge. this ( bill cosbys i think) quote get the point: I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

And the weirdest thing so far I seen is:

HUGE difference of NPCs buy and sell prices.

It can go as far as buy at 2 dappers but sell item of same quality and class at 200 dappers! Such a margin looks simply synthetic and unnatural. Whopping  10 000% margin for NPCs? Oh lol, it's beyound of wildest dreams of any capitalist.... In older economic NPCs margin has been much more realistic and looked more or less natural. Now it looks sooooo synthetic :). In real world it would self-balance and such a mad trader would be knocked out of market by competitors. In game world it is not as simple as that.

Never thought I'd see the day when our beloved sandbox game was turned into a mission driven game like any generic MMO out there. It is like playing in a straight jacket.
