Couild somebody please tell me if there is any PVP here and if there is can I avoid getting clobbered? I just hate it when I'm out minding my own business trying to level and this high level bully comes along and kills me for no reasong other than I was breathing!

PvP on Atys is consentual.

There are a small number of zones that are PvP.  If you enter those zones you are consenting to PvP.

There´s PVP but you´re safe unless you agree with a fight (but there´s pvp zones, where you can be attacked
without agreement, but i think it will take you quite a bit time to even get there, so no worries for now).
