Awesome, I'll be coming back regardless! So sweet to see names posting around here that offer some form of cognitive recognition from many years ago. Memories start flowing back from my time in this most awesome of virtual universes (which, imho, has yet to be surpassed).

Although I'm in totally favor for a full wipe from a gameplay perspective, it obviously isn't the right path judgning by peoples reactions in general. The solution posted here seems like a good compensation, and will have me resubbing even though I'll primarily play on the "reckless" toon.

It is vital to understand that experiences had in virtual/alternate/etc realities are no less "real" than experiences had in the physical world. Even if a massive wipe aka genocide would go down, all the experiences and relations you have amassed in your time playing will not be deleted.
This is the main attraction of this game; the fact that the community is more central to the Ryzom experience than the actual games enviroment itself. And that, at least for me, is what makes this game so fucking awesome.

hey all good news, there's an export option for your character (it's why the keys on your account page were created).

don't recall the url right now, but I found it on the french forums

you can find it by searching for "save your ass" or "save your api" (minus quotes)

then again maybe you want to lose more players who think there toons are going to be deleted forever.

I have seen it asked but have not seen an answer yet. Does anyone know if we will keep our titles and preorder items(shield)?

Welcome back Neva, a CSR said in Uni last night that you will not keep the preorder shields, titles that are kept are the Elder of Atys ones, and only that other than that they are gone.

Stinks don't it. I paid good money for that. One of the few in game indicators that someone has played this game from the start and actually bought it before it was released. Taken away when it doesn't really need to be, it's so weak as an actual shield it's hardly an unbalancing item.

You can't "complete" the mainland. If one thinks one has seen or done everything there, one is kidding oneself. But be prepared to "get out what you put in," because the mainland does not coddle or hold hands.

Remickla (atys)

Other games - they give you a cookie whether you succeed or not, in fact you don't even have to participate. Ryzom takes your cookie, eats it in front of you, and slaps you 2 or 3 times for bringing a cookie in the first place.
