hello, I am brand new to the game and am enjoying myself, but I have terrible framerates, stuttering, all that stuff. I run WoW under wine just fine in opengl mode so I know my card isn't bad, I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to fix my ryzom performance.

I run ubuntu 12.04 on an amd phenom 2 x4 processor with a radeon hd 6670 graphics card and the proprietary drivers.

thank you in advance

I believe what Olmo is trying to say is "try using the native Linux build for the client." That being said, there should be no reason why Wine would not work.

However, there have been reports of problems with Radeon cards. Try doing a search in the forums with Radeon as a keyword and see what other people have tried that may have worked. You might also check your memory, since Ryzom is a well-known memory hog. (If you have 4GB or more you should have no problem on that account.)

By the way, some stuttering and framerate problems are caused by the internet just because the servers are in France.

Just thought I would post my system settings to show that the native Ubuntu Ryzom client runs just fine on Radeon.

Aspire 7551G-7606
AMD Phenom II X4 N970
AMD Radeon HD 6470M
4 GB RAM

Today, this is a rather low end laptop (especially in the gaming community) and it runs the native Ubuntu Ryzom client beautifully (just not at max settings, default settings at 1600x900 run just fine though).
