IDEAS FOR RYZOM

- Mission window closes every time you pick up a mission. And if you want to take a few of them, you have to repeat clicking and scrolling up and down again. Need a fix, so it remains open until closed manually.

- Another proposal is Team Invite option for people on friend list and Invite button in private conversation window, right next to Friend and Ignore buttons.

Good:
- I very much like the ability to lock items in the inventory so they can't be sold or destroyed. I wasn't playing for a while before the server merge, until a few days ago, so this is new to me.
- The interface is a lot more clean and minimal than some I've seen.

Bad:
- I get notified, both on the forums and on the compass window in game about announcements that aren't in my language. Perhaps the one in game could show only announcements for the client language or perhaps there could be an option on the forums for preferred language that would affect both?
- It's very hard to move the action bars sometimes. It's very hard to select / highlight the bar. The activation area for this is small and difficult to find.
- I can't tell which windows are locked to movement and which are not unless I manage to highlight them (which you can't do if they're locked).
- Quest NPC speech balloons can be easily hidden by objects like walls. In some cases, it's quite inconvenient to find a camera position that allows me to read all of it.

Bugs:
- The camera zoom is not saved between sessions. I always start in first-person view.
- When an NPC has multiple quests on his/her right-click menu, the top one is often chosen, even if I don't click that one. A prominent example is the leaving Silan mission from Chiang the Strong. If you have that mission and any other one from him at the same time, he will only talk to you about leaving Silan, no matter what option you choose, unless you abandon the quest or choose the second mission from his right-click menu while he's talking about leaving Silan.
- When I'm supposed to turn in an item to an NPC for a quest, I often see multiple "Give 1 item"s on the right-click menu.
- Double quotes don't show up in numbered channels: /0 So last night, Bob told me, "Blah blah blah!"
posts as: So last night, Bob told me, Blah blah blah!
- Debuffs I'm encumbered with often show as death penalty on mouse-over.

What I don't use:
- The mp3 player, even if it would work on the Linux client.

Enhancements:
- Change the "lock/unlock" right-click menu item to "lock" or "unlock" as appropriate.
- Have an option to either refrain from adding newly learned actions to the action bar, or have an option to add the new action the the currently showing bar (in the "action" window, not "action #2"), rather than the first bar (or both options).
- Search in the key binding window by either the key combination or the action name. I'm thinking typing the name in a box, rather than selecting it from a series of menus.
- Either just disable automatically compass targetting the quest giver when a quest is completed, or add an option to do this.
- It would save time or action bar space (for me, at least) to be able to add HP/focus/etc. boosts in the crafting window, for example beside where the item to craft is chosen, instead of to the stanza (although adding them in the stanza is more like other skills in Ryzom).
- Enable chat logging to be automatically toggled on when logging in. I like to be able to scroll back further than the chat window allows sometimes, and I don't always remember to turn this on when I log in. As well, humorous chat doesn't usually happen when I expect it to.
- Allow buying multiple teleport pacts at once, like other sold items.

Kaelyra
Finally, I find the action bar icons to be lacking in terms of diversity. I usually have a number of icons on any given bar that are only distinguishable due to the three or four letters it shows from the name. It would be extremely helpful to have larger number of assignable icons for our stanzas so that we can more easily differentiate between them at a glance.
Assignable icons for actions would be very nice. Allowing use of the icons used in macros would be semi-useful to me. Being able to choose the icon of one of the stanzas used in the action would be more useful to me. Being able to do a combination of the two (for example the yellow splat from increase attack on top of an orange+dark orange striped square) would be the most useful to me.

Gorran
Select and Copy to clipboard from the chat windows! It's a pain to have to pull up my log file to simply copy and paste to a browser.
I've wished for this a number of times. To avoid selecting text when fighting, perhaps this could be disabled if the chat window is locked.

While the window closing automatically is useful when I'm only going to do one mission, I would much rather have to close the window myself.

None - The PoV bug is universal, not just the Linux client.

You can get double quotes in chat boxes by escaping the first double quote.

I.e. Type: Baxy said, \"I really think Darren is cool"
in order to have it show up in the box as [Baxy said, "I really think Darren is cool."]

Okay. I thought someone told me once it didn't happen on the other clients. Fixed.

Good to know.

None, the chatLog status is saved between sessions. You will see a message displaying the status when you log in. This is true for the Windows version; not sure about the Linux version.

Hope its not too late to post a couple ideas, but i just have 2:
1. have a resizable crafting window ( so i can know if my toon hiding behind it is getting eaten up or not by kitins!) and..
2. Have a Scroll bar on the Macro actions list so i can see the bottom of it and be able to click 'ok'. (I am using Mac OSX 10.6.8 and im not sure if its a graphic resolution problem on my part, but i can only put so many bosses on my boss macro, then i cant see the bottom to add more)
i wish to scroll down to the bottom of it.
[also: I agree with Daomi on the 'free view' thing, it seems worthless and can get you into trouble if you click the wrong keys at the wrong moment. I already know how to 'look around']

Naema --

About the boss macro thing. There seems to be a limit to the number of lines you can put into a macro using the in-game editor. However, that limit does not exist in the keys_charactername.xml file that is in your save folder. You can open that file with any text editor and add lines to your Boss Locator macro. The format will be immediately obvious.

If you would like an xml file of all the bosses already written up, send me a private message with a working email in it and I will send you an attachmnet. (That's how I got the file, many years ago -- I do not claim to have coded it.)
Anyone else who wants it can write to me as well.

Keeping the North on the compass would be very helpful...

#72 [en]

You can always get North back by right clicking and selecting it, Sake.  Are you proposing two pointers on the compass, one for North and one for target, mission, resource, whatever?  I think that might be hard to design in addition to needing some serious coding.

Some fixes I'd like to see:
-The trainer "upgrade" programming is buggy. The upgrades don't remove the skill from neither the trainer's "all" menu nor "actions" menu.
- The choice "actions" is used twice on the menu. Rename the action choice as "Skill" and it's window "Skill Progression." Place the map and move items on the same menu. I recommend swapping map to the Actions menu, moving talk to the communications menu, and placing animals in the Windows menu.
-Fix bugs in the Ubuntu client, whereby one cannot enter the guild, or find the mektoub once dismounted.

The upgrades are not bugged:

The skills include multiple updates so the skill is displayed as long as not all included updates are learned.

---

#75 [en]

@ Cathach When you buy the upgrades for skills you recieve that skill only, when you buy the non-upgrade option you receive a new credit/counter part. You will find that if you go back and purchase all the credits/counterparts the non-upgrade actions will disappear. :)

Many noobs buy an upgrade for a spell. The title of the spell does not change on the icon, although the brick does. Then the individual rebuys the spell, thinking they do not have it, because the icon, with upgrade, has the old number. This is a playability issue, and not just with me.

Unless I'm much mistaken, buying the brick only will not give you a new action. If the person later buys the action, it will work as intended, with that brick inside. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Cathach, this is true -- however, it does NOT charge you skill points for the parts you already have.  All you get is new stanzas to combine.  This is a good thing, not a bad thing.  I.e. if the Action: SPELLX(4) which contains action stanza spellx(4)+counterparts time(2)+sap(5) costs 10 sp and the Upgrade Spell costs 3 sp, once you have bought the Upgrade the cost of Action SPELLX(4) with the same stanzas in it, is reduced to 7 sp.

For my part I feel that if you buy an action without looking inside it to find out what it has in it you are not practicing due diligence.  In this case, however, the game automatically saves you at least the cost of duplicating a stanza.

As for labeling Action choices as "skills" you run into nomenclature conflict with the actual skill improvements for primary and secondary attributes and the increase of level (commonly called skill level in an activity).

Remember, an Action is castable/usable as purchased (not necessarily in the most effective fashion, but it can be). An Upgrade buys you a stanza/brick that can only be used in combination with other stanzas to make a new Action.

This is what other people have been trying to say.

P.S. Mjollren, you are right.
PPS Request for the buggy client support should go into Support forums or into a ticket for responce by the CSRs.
