I installed Ryzom on Ubuntu 11.10 3 days ago. Worked well, but last time, when i launched the game, there was patching, and after that I have this graphic bug. Have anybody met such thing?

I have the same issues:

1.) White "balls" above every character, NPC, animal and plant. They're everywhere!

2.) Blank space in the Character Selection screen. It does not cover all the screen, but only the space where the character is located, so I can't see him/her.

Obs.: I'm running Ryzom on Linux (Ubuntu 11.10, specifically) and these issues started today.

Yeah, same here (Linux too). Client still reports as 1.12.1 so I'm assuming some data files weren't set up properly or are missing. Bubbles are kinda cute.

My girlfriend is having the same issues. Her laptop is also running Linux (Ubuntu 11.10).

Just to give an other data point:
Yesterday night my Ubuntu 11.10 installed client worked fine. None of the described issues. I'm still on the official linux client from before the patch. I have not tried to update anything.

Reason for all these problems is an inconsistency between graphic objects in the data directory and the client, how ever this took place. By running update.sh in the ryzom directory, the issue should be gone, now, and the new client 1.13 be running correctly.

When I try to load the game, I get a big white block over my character image. No biggie. I try to start playing with a character and the game crashes during loading. I tried to find this update.sh, but I don't have it in the ryzom directory.

I'm running Ubuntu 11.10.

If there is a way to specifically patch the game files, please be thorough in instructions.

Correction. I can get into the mainland, but not to the Silan area.

Further update: the mainland area just crashed on me after letting me in.

If you have the "white pearl" bug, please check if there is an update available. If not, you can try the fix below.

Remove these 2 lines from /etc/ryzom/client_default.cfg:

TexturesInterface = "texture_interfaces_v3";
TexturesInterfaceDXTC = "texture_interfaces_dxtc";

"**Linux users can download the official game from sourceforge rather than the Ubuntu Software Center here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ryzom/files/ryzom_client.7z/downl oad

This will come with the ryzom_update.sh file that will patch your client to the latest 1.13. This should clear the cosmetic issues found ingame."
