Concerning the issue of teleportation.

Let's attempt a more enlightened approach, as the Kami hope for us to strive for.

We know that teleportation exists.
We know that there are beings more powerful than the homins that we are and know.
It seems that the two higher powers we are aware use different methods to achieve teleportation.
We find evidence for this idea when we look at the altars of the Kami and Karavan and when we observe their most favored disciples teleport.

Now I'm not the most studied of homins, but I believe only the Karavan preach of a god, and the Kami only refer to Ma-Duk as the life giver, an obviously very powerful being, but perhaps not as removed from our world and as exclusive a power as the word "god" suggests.
Considering that the Karavan seem to originate from a very different place than our beloved Atys and as such Ma-Duk may well be the life giver of Atys only and Ma-Duks true nature will only be known to us once we achieve enlightenment.

As such I believe teleportation is not exclusive to "gods" but a phenomenon of our world that merely requires deep understanding of the world and large power to achieve.

Achieving such insight and understanding is part of the enlightenment we Kamists hope to gain and that the Kami hope for us.

It now becomes merely a question of whether or not the development of homin teleportation gets used in an enlightened way.

I think it's better that Marauders cannot be cult aligned. It makes much more sense with the existing lore.

I just wish they'd add some thematic lore heavy introductory Marauder missions like each racial capital has their own series of Sage missions. Those would be pretty good to set the tone for new Marauders and give them some lore guidance.

And I totally agree with Rhonio's theory on the whole teleportation thing!

Rikutatis, Rhonio --

I was not so much commenting on "alignment" as the statement that they had to be "anti-cult" (i.e. have very negative cult fame). I haven't seen anything to indicate that the Marauders should be anything but against the civilizations that they think abandoned them in the Old Lands. To the extent that these civilizations have "established" the worship of Ma-Duk or Jena, they might be unwilling to align themselves, but not actively fight against them. Jena is above the religious teachings of her disciples (and I'm sure that the deluded Kami feel the same way about Ma-Duk).

The history we have says that the Kitin destroyed the Rainbow Gates, and that the gates were either miraculous or created by a single individual (Tryton), not by the civilizations. Does it not seem to you possible that some force has manipulated the homins who now call themselves Marauders, twisting their history into a weapon against civilization in the New Lands? As with so much we have lost, it would appear that the true history of the Marauders is lost as well.

Agreed that there should be some official Lore guidance. We have so far only the rantings of Akila Ashstorm, but who is to know if those represent a true statement of the tenets of the majority of Marauders or only the frothing of a crazed leader? The claims of lesser leaders have totally failed the test of history and common sense, so I discount them entirely.

As far as the Gates and teleport altars are concerned I can live with the concept that they are part of the natural forces of Atys, manifested differently by Jena and Ma-Duk and capable (if we achieve that knowledge) of being manipulated by homins as well.

With deep respect.
