GUILD REGISTRY

#1 [en]

I keep seeing people make noise about roleplay but I don't see it actually happening in a lasting fashion, so here's another attempt:

The wanderers are a roleplaying guild.
We are not a catch-all guild for roleplayers. Rather, we hope other guilds might spring up to fill other role-playing niches and interact with us when we cross paths.

Our niche: We are a motley bunch of nomads who travel atys hunting, gathering, and doing odd jobs. All races are welcome. I hope older players who wish to join will create alts to experience the game from the ground up. Players who like to play with multiple accounts at once are welcome, so long as all toons they bring with them develop their characters.

Other roleplayers are welcome to interact with us in this context. Anyone joining the guild is signing on to the lifestyle. I'm assuming we'll be a combination of newer players and alts from established players after a change of pace. We will try to schedule time to play together. In the near future, I'll plan on being around weekends.

What's the lifestyle? We're nomads. That means we'll be moving about and setting up camp various places. We will start in Imperial Dunes because I think the need to move around in search of resources is encouraged by the scarcity of resources in the desert so it makes role playing sense. But we hope to ultimately spend time in all lands. We'll probably light fires where we set up camp. We'll likely have mektoub mounts and packers. We will be crafting all our own gear from what we find where we are. We won't be grinding and power leveling, but we will definitely be hunting, gathering, and crafting.

We aren't the rich and powerful. We are starting out as subsistence nomads and if we acquire material possessions it will be from within the guild, not through gifts funneled in through powerful primary toons or other outsiders. We are neutral. We value freedom above all else. We don't trust the organized kami and kara religions and as we travel through all lands we cannot afford to take sides in regional politics. We might try to make friends with everyone but we won't make enemies. We don't use teleports: we use feet and mektoubs. Breaking character for treks to capital cities is completely reasonable for teleport pacts for the purpose of training crafts. Players who are out for a few weeks and find we've moved on might also seek trek assistance to move between regions. But otherwise we won't be teleporting.

To apply to join, please send me in-game mail. I will not be watching this thread.

Welcome to Atys and to the Desert, Wanderers. If you have any question, just ask away. It is always a pleasure for me and fellow homins to share knowledge with newcommers about survival in this beautiful, yet deadly world that we call the Mainland(s). And I usually make sure to treat the wounded homins when I see them run past me. *bows* My name is Sherkalyn Abygrian, professional healer and trekkers' favourite bodyguard.

Welcome, Wanderers.

You have chosen a difficult path. I wish you good luck and if luck is not enough (it rarely is on Atys), I offer you my help such as it is.

It's bad luck to be superstitious . . .
