just think it would make appartments in particular more useful

haven't used apartments yet, but aren't aparments supposed to be in some town to which you can tp and then walk like ~300m to your apartment?

yes they are, but that 300 meters or so through a winding city can take a bit. so appartments are a bit useless for storage, even though they have far more capacity than a packer, of anything you might need in a hurry. so no use for storing gear.

they are also in areas of the cities that have no handy merchants (for the most part) so no real use for storing crafting mats except the things you want to long term store.

Good idea

I welcome every single aspect of the game that makes it look "real". Having to walk or run to places should take time.

Stables are a good meeting place for folks who otherwise would rarely meet each other; if this were to be implemented, it would lessen chance encounters in the cities, which I would not see as a boon.

Perhaps some people are "impulse buyers" and will stop and ignore their goal for the latest new shiny, but personally I'm not. If I am going to my apartment for whatever reason, regardless of how many stables and crowds I need to pass, my purpose is to go to my apartment. I'll wave as I pass by, but I've probably already been talking to half the people I'm waving at.

Pyr apartments are the best looking, in my opinion, but there's no way I'd ever try to walk to them. The walk through Fairhaven isn't much better, but at least it's mostly a straight line. Yrkanis from the Kara TP wins this comparison by a mile. Go figure, eh?

Because they are so out of the way, I only keep stuff in my apartment that is needed on an infrequent basis. When I need to go to my apartment, there is a sense of urgency, because someone (or I myself) needs something from there. It's not a casual visit. That is why we have packers and stables.

Strictly as a rp it would seem that a tp to your apt would be something you would have to buy. Seeing that there isn't a tp every half a kilometer in the world implies that there is signifigant cost in constructing them.If you were to have a tp in your apt it would have to cost perhaps a billion dapper or more. I know their are many who could afford that but probably a greater number the couldn't.

-1 for RP reasons.

The Karavan and Kami altars are not just convenient nodes. They are expressions of presence. What you invoke to get from where you are to the altar is a pact between you and the operators of the altar (Karavan followers or Kami followers). That is one reason why they are not transferable. It's a personal pact, not a bearer note.

What I would like to see (and it comes up regularly, I know) is the ability to craft in one's apartment without loading the mats from the shelves/cupboards into your pack. We can do it out of the saddlebags on the packers, why not in the apartment?
