I was sitting at some tribe, chatting with homins, when the game just disapeared. I mean it just crashed disappearing from process list, without a trace.

Now the worrying part. I left it to take a break, came back some 30 mins later, tried logging in, and it said my account is logged in! [must wait 30 seconds]

So basically the game quit, and i wasn't logged out. If it was in some not really safe area, i would come back the next day to log in to my dead character? Just because i think i will be logged out when the game quits, and it seems like it's not the case sometimes?

The problem is that you didn't log out due to the crash. When you log out properly, your character leaves the game environment. When you crash out of the game, your character remains in the environment until you attempt to log in again. At that point, the shard recognizes that your account is logged in twice and logs out the first instance and denies access to the second instance for 30 seconds.
